Description:

These beautiful historic gardens and arboretum dating back to the late...

These beautiful historic gardens and arboretum dating back to the late 1700's are surrounded by over 1600 acres of countryside within the picturesque village of Upper Arley beside the river Severn. In addition to providing wonderful walks through the grounds there are walks along the banks of the river, all set in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside with far reaching views.

Go back in time and watch the Severn Valley Railway trains steam across the hill from one of the magnificent signposted walks. It is a garden that provides the ideal day out for you and your family, a dream escape from the bustle of everyday life. Our proximity to Birmingham, Kidderminster, Wolverhampton, Worcester, the Malverns and Cotswolds makes us the ideal attraction for individuals and groups alike.

The estate offers plenty to do for all ages from the Italian garden with its fountain for the adults, to the dinosaur and fairy trails and maze for the young ones. Arley Estate and Arboretum also provides a unique venue for your wedding reception, civil ceremony, or partnership.

There is more to Arley Estate and Arboretum than just a garden. It can also be used for corporate hospitality, promotional and photographic shoots and filming.

Furthermore, there is a wonderful tea room, where you can buy a light lunch or full, traditional afternoon tea. We hope you enjoy your visit to Arley Arboretum and Garden and thank you for taking time to look at our Trip Advisor page.

Visited on a lovely autumn day, there are various walks through the gardens, long or short, we had our 3 year old grandson with us so took the shorter route. We spent o good couple of hours playing hide and seek and walking around the beautiful gardens, the colours especially pretty at this time of year. We decided to have... More

We are so pleased to hear that you and your grandson had a wonderful time exploring the Arboretum. Thank you for letting us know how you felt about your experience in the Tea Room, we often get conflicting opinions regarding the quality of the food we are currently serving. The management takes on board all of these views and will... More

This was our first visit to the arboretum and it was a delight. The colours this time of year were unparalleled many vivid reds along with the oranges. Only downside is that we waited at 12.00 and 13.30 for the fountain to come on - and nothing happened. Dogs are welcome and there are plenty of bins in strategic places.

Sorry to hear the Fountain wasn't working properly on the day of your visit, there was a small technical fault on the pump system that day that has now been rectified. If you should wish to come back on another day and speak to our Tea room staff, we will endeavor to allow you access to view the fountain at... More

We try to visit Arley every autumn and this year the trees seem extra spectacular. Although a fairly cloudy day the leaves on the trees glowed with wonderful colour. After a couple of hours walk through the arboretum had a refreshing cuppa and excellent fresh chocolate cake in the tearoom Afterwards walked through the churchyard and the village to the... More

We visited this arboretum 5 years ago and were disappointed to note the deterioration. There was much litter throughout the arboretum with rubbish bins overflowing. Photos of trees have required items of rubbish to be edited out! The cafe smelled of burnt cooking oil which we had plenty of time to notice due to the extensively long queues and utterly... More

We would firstly like to thank you for letting us know about your experience when you came to visit us. On the date of your visit we had nine members of staff on duty, however many of these roles are done behind the scenes and without the hard work of these staff members the whole place would have grinded to... We caught the steam train to Arley and visited the Arboretum and it was a really lovely place. Had lunch in the café but unfortunately our first two choices were sold out and so we opted for the sandwiches which were ok. This was at 12.30 but they were extremely busy and I must say the staff and service were... More

We had lunch in the little tea-room (good choice but extremely slow service) then sauntered around the arboretum. The grounds are not that large and you can easily walk around, stopping to read the labels and enjoy the views, in under 2 hours. But the colours were magnificent on this sunny Autumn days and we gazed at lots of unusual... More

It was busy with several families Since we were last here there have been several developments and changes; a new paved area outside the tea room and a large enclosure for the rare breed chickens and therefore much more accessible to the visitors. White peahens walking around with their growing chicks; one with her chicks in an enclosure. The herbaceous... More

Payed money to camp and see the train as part of a combined package and we were really looking forward to our adventure. The Trains and arboretum gardens were lovely and was great to see the flying Scotsman but then all of a sudden at 8pm the loud music started from the grounds! I can only presume they have some... Thank you for your feedback regarding the Flying Scotsman event at Arley Arboretum. This was the first time we had used an online ticket service and also offered camping to our visitors. Unfortunately the online ticket administrators had failed to tell us that anyone had booked the camping part of the event, so we were unaware of your booking. We... More

I have been meaning to come here for a very long time. I have visited Bodenham arboretum which is nearby several times but have only just made it to Arley. The reason we came here was because of the visit of The Flying Scotsman. There was a viewing area where it was alleged we could see this magnificent engine. Well... More
