A great place to vist if you enjoy walking, but parts of the trail do require climbing several steps. The trails are clearly marked and views are awesome - don't forget your camera! The staff in the visitor center are very helpful.

There are a couple of ways to get to the falls. I did a little research ahead of time and we decided to take the East Ridge trail up to start at the top of the falls and work our way down. (Hence not climbing...More

For this FL girl this was an awesome experience! If you can do it climb the trail/stairs to the top. Started at the reflection pond, which was very relaxing with a bench swing. Great photography opportunity!

About 1.5 hour drive from Atlanta. This park has a nice water fall. And you can hike up along the water fall. Moderate hike with mostly wooden steps. Your legs will get very sore the next day if you are not used to climbing steps....More

Amicalola Falls State Park is located about 90 minutes north of Atlanta at the southern fringe of the Blue Ridge Mountains (Appalachian Mountains). The roads leading there are well-maintained and offer some scenic views. The park is well-maintained and staffed by friendly and informative people....More

It would be a solid 2 hours from I-85/985 split. Beautiful place and drive but maybe a bit out of your way to Jersey. Then again if you have time, check out Gibbs Gardens.
