The Veterans State Park at Cordele covers a large area on the edge of the town. One of the prime attractions open to non-veterans is the collection of preserved military aircraft from the World War Two and Post-war eras. A major exhibit is a rare surviving Boeing B-29 Superfortress shown in the accompanying image.

My family went to this state park for the first time this past weekend and it was soooooo worth it. Despite having 4 fishing tournaments going on during the Saturday that we went, there was still plenty of enjoyment for us. We spent all day here and enjoyed the fishing, a picnic, the war museum with it's time line of... More

This park is well maintained with camping, cabins and a hotel right on the lake. Interesting lake for fishing or kayaking. Numerous Cypress trees and Osprey.

Georgia Veterans State Park in located right along the banks of the Flint River. It is a beautiful place to have a picnic and spend the day swimming. It has beautiful campsites, most right on the water, with all hook ups, including cable. The main office also has a museum with memorabilia from just about every war fought. They even... More

A truly neat park. Spacious campsites and many at lakeside. Many different activities on site as well as many more within an hour's drive. More amenities than most parks are able to provide. Very popular so you may have to plan ahead, particularly on weekends and during nice weather or if the fish are biting. The military museum is a... More

I had heard of this park in the past while staying at the nearby Cordele KOA. While staying there for Christmas, I was determined to check it out. I had read somewhere that they had a plane or two on display. However, I was pleasantly surprised at what they had on hand. There was an inside museum with artifacts from... More

We were in Cobb County last weekend for a wedding and just happened to see this place when driving by. After riding around for a bit, I wish we had known about it before as we would have stayed here instead of in a motel. Thomas the Train was there on the short line railroad this weekend so it was... We were part of a group of 24 who came to play golf, spend the night, and play golf again. The course was in real good shape. It has some challenging holes but all and all a relatively fair course for those with average golf skills. We stayed in the lodge which appears to have been recently remodeled. Bed was... More
