Beautiful state park with nice trails and lots of activities (see website for activities and dates). One of Georgia's beautiful parks with a "mystery" stone wall that dates back to the time of Native Americans. Bring binoculars and a camera if you are a nature lover since there are lots of natural wonders to admire.

This is a pretty, we'll run state park in north Georgia. Good variety of hiking trails, nice views and interesting history/mystery surrounding the wall. Also has a like with boat rentals and camping areas. Nice day trip from Atlanta. Will go back to do more of the trails.

We always find the park clean and quiet. We like riding through to look for the bears. The overlook areas are superb.

This is probably one of the nicer places I have stayed in terms of camping. We enjoyed it so much we returned within 2 weeks because we discovered a trail we wanted to hike. So we hiked the Gahuti trail. It was a 9 1/2 mile hike during the fall season. Beautiful time of year to stay! We Also visited... More

This is a great park for numerous outdoor activities from hiking, cycling, horseback riding to swimming. The park offers camping and many pavilions for a daily picnic as well as playgrounds and a mini golf course. We traveled to Fort Mountain to take advantage of the many scenic hiking trails. There are several trails to choose from with varying lengths... More

I come here every time I go to Georgia. Great hiking for all levels. A nice little beach and all the trails are dog friendly

Visited the park to hike some trails and enjoy the fall colors. We hiked the Gahuti trail wich was great with several views and cascade waterfalls (wich were dry today) and an abundance of color. The majority of the trail is well maintained but there are a few parts being washed out on steep drop off that are scary. Plenty... More

Well worth the ride to see. The mountain road to the park will keep you on your toes for sure. Very easy hike. The stone wall is intriguing to say the least. The tower is opened on the weekends. The main reason to go is the overlook. If you're afraid of heights it will take a few minutes to ease... More

Wanting to go to the mountains without traveling to the Smokies, we decided to give Fort Mountain a chance. The surrounding area at the base of the park is full of scenic country Georgia. Farms, rolling hills, and small towns dot the landscape. The park itself gives you an amazing view of the area from up above. The overlooks have... More

We hiked to the tower as we only drove through. However, great for camping and highly recommend for the fall season when the leaves are changing.
