We love Fort Mountain. We have been there a few times for day hikes but finally got a chance to camp there and it was great. The park was nice and quiet and not overrun with a huge crowd. The bathroom facilities were clean and nice. Campsite was perfect. And again, great short little day hikes. The staff is great... More

Leave the hustle and bustle of the Atlanta metro area behind and come to a place that thrives on fresh air and beautiful scenery. You'll find lots of room to roam, and something different to look forward to each season.

My dog and I spent the day at Fort Mtn State Park today and it was a fabulous day. We hiked to the scenic overlook, the restored fire tower and spent some time at the ancient Stone Wall. Amazing to feel the energy of such an ancient structure. Some of these trails were steep and portions were very rocky but... More

The Gahuti is no joke as far as difficulty. I hike often and took a group of hiking buddies yesterday and while the majority finished some had to tag out half way. Lots of roots and some mud as ice was melting which made descents a little treacherous...that was half the fun though. Absolutely breath taking views...peaceful, quiet trail this... More

Our Troop went on a camping trip and stayed in one of the Pioneer campsites over the weekend. We arrived late and had some difficulty find the campsite in the dark. The parking was well labeled but the little path to the site was not. The site was clean and the fire pit well maintained. The shelter was very useful... More

This park is located in my town and I am always amazed there is a lake on top of the mountain! Yes, it's man-made, but beautiful with fishing, swimming (and a beach!) and paddle boats. There is an abundance of hiking trails in this park so there is always something to do! Plus, great camping area and cabins to rent!

This park sits on top of Fort Mountain in Chatsworth Georgia. It's cheap for an all day fun filled day. Small Beach for kids in the summer and trails with awesome sights. Very peaceful and quiet.
