A beautiful spot. hard to believe it is so close the crazy racetrack that is the I4 highway. British classic car clubs had a gathering/show there today. Austin Healey 3000's, MGA' & B's, Jag XK's of every vintage were represented.Lotus, Marcos and Morgan, Triumph TR 2,3,4,6,7,8, Spitfire , pretty much all the interesting Brit 2 seat sports car models were... Make sure to visit this place very early in the morning. It is too quiet and you can only hear birds. You can see Red Shouldered Hawks to Egrets to Wood Ducks and Ticolored Herons. Make sure to visit the pond and the butterfly garden area; lots of warblers there. If you are lucky you can even see a Bobcat.

Don't bother. Nothing to see but rotting board walks and trash in bushes. The only butterfly we saw on the butterfly garden was the butterfly chair. Very disappointed.

If you just want a quiet stroll lost in your thoughts, this would be the place to go. In terms of seeing things, there's not a lot to offer, especially compared to its more famous neighbour, the Harry P Leu Garden. However, admission is free and when we were there, it was not as crowded as the Leu Garden.

Mead Garden is different. Smaller and more intimate, it draws you in to discover hidden nooks and treasures. The little pond is charming and relaxing. The butterfly garden had quite a few fluttering about the day I visited. A large area with trees and some scattered tables is a perfect spot for lunch or the shaded area next to the... More

Mead Garden is very nice. But it can do with a bit more upkeep. Some of the scenic walkways (through swampy spots) were destroyed by a hurricane a number of years ago and they have never been rebuilt. Instead, a new shorter route has been provided. The greenhouse has some very interesting plants and is worth a quick visit. The... More

Not pristinely manicured- and that's part of what makes it so fun! the plants were stunning and it was so nice to walk around after lunch in Winter Park. I want my children to see natural things on our trips, not just tourist traps.

This is a fine place to have a picnic or view local wildlife in the small ponds. There are facilities for special events but this park is somewhat neglected by the city and partly used as a storage yard for city plantings and such.

Mead Gardens is a wonderful venue for special occasions. It was founded in 1922 to promote gardening and to make Winte Park more beautiful. It's free to the public and is open daily from dawn to dusk. There's a 47 acres for you to enjoy and walk exploring as much as you want. You can come and listen to the... More

What a beautiful old park in Winter Park. A bit on the rustic side, but many great paths and water features. Would love to see more activities, like a movie in the park, or an event to go to there, plenty of room for activities.
