Not a major museum but worth a look

This museum us lovely but needs tomake the investment to have more traveling exhibitions so there is more to seemore often. All in all a great museum and this nice wealthy community can do more with it and for it! Jan

Dear Jan, Thank you for visiting the Vero Beach Museum of Art and for taking the time to post a review on tripadvisor. The Museum changes it's exhibitions every three months, which means we have nine different traveling shows for visitors to see across a calendar year, as well as our own permanent collection, community galleries and two sculpture parks.... The building is itself very attractive and the special exhibits when we visited had a nice slice of American art styles of the 19th and 20th century. I lingered at several pieces in the permanent collection also and in the attractive sculpture garden.

This museum is well done and there is a nice variety of art. The people there are very happy to answer any questions. The art is indoors and out. I just wouldn't recommend the tour. We started and she talked so long at each painting I had to move on.

We visited the museum on the way to the ocean. It cost $5.00 per person to visit. They had an amazing NASA exhibit. We have since joined for the year, and can go as many times as we want and bring one guest. The cost was $60.00... Worth it. When they have a new exhibit coming in they invite the... More

I was positively surprised with the interesting temporary exhibition, as well as with the permanent collection. Some of the very recent paintings were really something different. The only disappointment was the closing hour: already at 4:30 pm! Why not until 6 pm? On the other hand, very friendly staff, ready to explain everything. Also, the museum is located near the... We enjoyed our visit to this museum as the art collection has unusual pieces from a private collection that are on loan. The docents are very helpful as well with history. Worth your time to stop and enjoy...plus a nice cafe for a little lunch too.

When I went, the museum was having a show I enjoyed. I also got to tour their art class rooms. Nice small museum; however I did think the price for admission was too high for seniors for only a few rooms. That's why I gave it 4/5.

I really enjoyed the sculpture garden. The museum is very clean. Clean lines, modern. It was very empty the day I went Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Plenty to see and ponder.

Starting from the venue, the museum is a lovely place to visit. We saw the NASA collection and were surprised and educated by this insight into the role of art in space exploration. Did you know that an astronaut actually swung a golf club on the Moon? Well worth to spend a morning in Vero.
