You can rent poles and fish. Saw a man catch a small shark. Dolphins were putting on a show along side the pier. Many families were there fishing.

This is a beautiful place. The view at sunset is stunning and beach is wide, clean and not crowded. People enjoy fishing from the pier and the birds love helping them dispose of excess bait and some caught fish.

Visited the pier last week. City of Venice reopened the pier with limited hours. It opens at dawn and closes at sunset.

No, dogs are not allowed on the Pier, but there is a dog park just south of the Pier, also on the Gulf of Mexico.
