The American Victory Ship is moored in Tampa Bay at 701 Channelside Drive, very close to Pier # 2 for the Cruise Ships. When you stand on the dock below the American Victory you are amazed at it’s shear size, if you make sure that no modern day Cruise Ship is moored near it!! It is still a very impressive... More

The ship is very interesting but we went on a hot day and the temperature inside the ship was so very hot. But it is a must see.A lot of great history here.

I love history and anytime I can experience it first hand, I'm there. Personal were friendly and we'll informed. Love the period music they had playing. I could almost in vision the crew working and living on board. I took my mother and she is 70 years old and was able to go to the very top. Some of the... More

The interesting part is trying to imagine yourself living on this Cargo War ship. We walked throughout most of the ship and viewed the cooking station, the captains quarters, the sailors quarters, the old bathrooms, the decks of the ship. It is not something you see everyday. The day I went, we were almost the only visitors. That made moving... More

I expected a bit more of this, there is not a lot of history to this museum, i know it was a just cargo-ship but i would like to know more about what it did in WWII. I dont think it's all bad after all this old sailor gives you a feel of what it would be like on a... More

We arrived at 7 pm and boarded the ship and found out we should have sat down right then and there at the front of the ship. But we decided to explore the ship. Very hot inside. Another point of reference, make sure you visit here when it's cool outside. Whew, it was HOT inside. By the time we got... More

Used Groupon to get tickets because my husband enjoys old military info. Your tour is self-guided, but someone did take us to the engine room to give us more info. It is hot in the summer and there is a lot of walking and stairs.

We did this through a groupon and was well worth the price. When we started the tour a guide greeted us and had a wealth of information about the ship. The guide was there because they had a group of young kids doing a tour and he was their guide. He only had about 10 minutes before he had to... More

We had toured another WWII battleship stationed along the Mississippi River and enjoyed that. We thought this would be another interesting and educational experience. However, we were sadly disappointed. In addition to being incredibly stifling hot inside of the ship, it was not well set up to see much. Few artifacts. Few displays. Not a lot of education. Not much... More

My husband enjoyed this ship more than I since he is more familiar with things nautical. I cannot add any more than what Evan has said. When we toured the ship, there were no volunteers or guides of any kind. The only person we saw was the lady who sold us our ticket. I was disappointed that no information/guide was... More
