I love South Tampa. It's where old historic neighborhoods , the city, and the beautiful bayshore boulevard meet. It has a lot of "mom and pop," restaurants, fitness centers, wineries, and clothing boutiques. This part of town has a lot of character and has strong ties with all Gasparilla celebrations . It is pretty safe and a great place to... More

South tampa is the place in tampacrime rate is low. Housing prices high. Neighborhoods are reasonably safe. Schools are great. It really is a great place to live and raise a family. We left because it got too crowded for us but it has everything you could possibly want very close.

If you like to pay twice as much for half the product, this is the area of town you need to live in. If you can sneak in to the canals off of westshore, you're in fishing heaven. Other than that, it's over rated unless you like being jammed up in traffic and street floods on a weekly basis during... More

South Tampa was just called Tampa when I grew up there back in the 60's. I was back recently for my 35 year High School Reunion, Go Robinson Knights!! There are more people, and there is more traffic but, much remains the same. Ybor City has been revitalized, Bush Gardens is bigger. Dairy Joy Ice Cream is still on Manhattan... More

This is my favorite place in Tampa to live. Been here for mot of my life and would never consider moving. All the ranch style houses are rapidly giving way to "McMansions". No more single story homes. Plenty of thing to do in this area. Everything you need is within a five mile radius of our house. This is good... More

South Tampa has its charm, however South Tampa is a bit congested, traffic is aweful. The roads flood easily with a good days rain. Night life is OK. Not too many great beaches to go to. This is not my first choice of places to have a vacation

You definitely want to hit the south Tampa area when you are in town. All best and most cultural-fashionable restaurants are here.

South Tampa is located on the peninsula as MacDill AFB. It has an abundance of architecture including classic tract home from the early 1960 to beautiful upscale multi-million dollar homes. It also has excellent shopping and dining. It is a sprawling area and things are quite spread out. It also boasts the world longest continuous side walk.

Been here all my life and can't get enough of South Tampa. Lots to see and explore, with lots of history in between. The homes are fantastic and beautiful. Don't forget to visit Bayshore while in South Tampa.
