Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The zoo is average with parking free parking in the front. It was nice to always be able to find shade and water fountains. It doesn't flow well, and you find yourself often at a dead end., so just be aware of this. There are some different animals I have not see before, but otherwise a typical smaller zoo. Although it states that you cannot bring in outside food or drink, but I did see people have some. There is food available for purchase inside.

We are life long Tampa people and grew up going to The LPZ, with our kids. We are 60+ now and kids are grown but decided to go there as something to do. We were surprised to see just what the $45 entrance fee got you. We got there at 9:30 just as it opened up and went to all of the exhibits. My how things have gone down hill , some exhibits had no animals and were overgrown with plants. Those exhibits that were open like Africa ( the safari ride was closed) looked sad as did the animals in them. Primates was the most active but in that heat you can tell the animals spent more time hiding to get a break, as would I. We grabbed a water from a soda machine as most if the concessions did not open up until 11a !! Guess what cost was associated with a bottle of Dasani water ? $8 !! We opted for the ticket that allows us to go back at anytime in 2021…..cannot imagine why we would go back until they did a lot of work …just sad to see it in that state. The staff, was amazing..$45 ? Better spent at the Aquarium or a nice meal.

Small but valuable in terms of quality of care the animals receive. The zoo is clean and very well kept. They rescue injured animals and do a magnificent job of maintaining them.

Grandkids love to go there for short periods of time. The splash park is awesome for them and the rides. We go often.

We had a great time. It was our first time to this zoo and we were pleasantly surprised. We even got the annual pass (it was the same price as the 1 day). If you take your time you can spend a whole day here.

Been coming here since the 60's. Haven't been here lately, lots of changes.
Very nice displays and layouts. Unfortunately some areas were closed for repair. We will be back soon.

Friendly staff made our day very enjoyable. Our 2 boys (8 and 5 years old) were entertained and enjoyed the exhibits, particularly the stingrays.

This was our first visit to this zoo. We took our daughter and our four-year old grandson for the day and it was such a great experience. We opted to rent a stroller for our grandson, which was by far the best decision we made. Lots of the animals were awake and playing or eating, so we were thrilled as we’ve been to quite a few zoos where most to the animals are sleeping during the middle of the day, so we certainly weren’t disappointed. I would highly recommend the aviary, where you can go inside and purchase bird food and feed the birds for a small cost. Be sure to visit the stingray area and pet them-such a neat experience!

This is, by far, one of the most impressive zoos we have been to stateside.

Much better than our previous visit, when a lot was closed for building works. This now seems to have been completed and provides an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

Oh, and parking is free!

Lowry Park Zoo has expanded in recent years, and is fun for the whole family. I must state that my grandkids love it! Kimodo dragons, Hippos, Rhinos, birds, reptiles, and so much flora and fauna. Be prepared to walk (and usually in hot weather). Lowry Park is a zoo committed to preserving and enhancing endangered species. A can't-miss Tampa experience
