Due to work, my husband had to leave earlier than us; we only had a couple of hours before his flight was to leave BUT the nearest beach was 45 minutes away and what if there was an accident? It wasn't worth missing his flight for. As we had already eaten and the day was drizzly and overcast we were... More

Very crowded today Sunday 3/19/17. Several families having picnics. Beautiful sunny day. A little Windy. Looking at the Bay is so relaxing. Lots of walking paths. Playground is small but neat things to play on. A few shelters with picnic tables. Several picnic tables without covers but look shaded by palm trees. They have quite a few grills so you... More

This had many good reviews so we tried it out. Sorry we did. Sand is dirty, the water is rather gross, and the type of people there left a lot to be desired. The water was gross enough that it smelled and you wouldn't want to get in, although a lot of people were swimming in it, which grossed us... More

This park is off the beaten path in a somewhat industrial area. There is a beach here but no swimming. We saw people sunbathing and fishing. The water is very shallow and not particularly clean. There is a walking path around the park with a water fountain. There are bathrooms and covered picnic tables. There is also a playground but... More

We didn't feel like driving 45 minutes or more from our hotel to spend a day outdoors, so we searched on our smartphone for someplace close and luckily found Cypress Point Park. It is a bay beach and park, so don't expect waves and turquoise water but it was perfect for what we wanted, a place to sun ourselves and... More

We were looking for a nearby park to go on a low-key stroll after dinner -- this was a really good find! Hidden behind an industrial park with lots of office buildings, this park has ample parking and great views. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're nearby / staying near the airport!

This is not the full beach experience you get by going all the way to the gulf shores west of downtown Tampa, but if you want some sand and sun close to downtown, this is a solid spot. Don't look for it to be quiet as it seems to often be right under the flight pattern for the nearby airport.

This is a small but nice park along Tampa Bay, at the end of Cypress St. There's a small beach and also a walking trail. The really interesting thing to me is that it's under a landing path at TIA and jets go overhead pretty low, which is interesting to see.

When looking for places to go in Tampa, this beach caught our eye. We went at sunset and loved the gorgeous view and fun experience of planes flying over as they land at the airport. I've been back again and had a fabulous afternoon on the water. We even watched a pop-up wedding. Great spot!

I stopped by here on my way to Brandon. It's got pavilions, a playground and a nice beach. This is more of a local beach by the way according to the small crowd that I saw during my visit. According to them it's nice and quiet during the week but busy during the weekends.
