My daughter is attending USF and we decided to get some exercise and walk around this riverfront. It is very nicely done, easy to walk and beautiful neighborhood surrounding it. I would definitely recommend this as a beautiful way to get some exercise.

We live about an hour south and love coming up to the Hillsborough to canoe/kayak. We use Canoe Escape, an outfitter in the Sergeant state park. Last Saturday morning it was quiet and misty amidst the Spanish moss and cypress knees. We were greeted with...More

We loved this park and campground for our on night stay. The old trees are beautiful and they have kayak and bike rentals, a nice playground for the kids and walks for every taste. The river is almost black and stunning. Definately something to stay...More

Hillsborough River winds through Tampa. It's a tidal river, so when tide comes in the water flows upstream. Water taxi tours, the river is beautiful and relaxing. You can canoe, kayak, fish, bike. There is a bike path. Lots of birds, some dolphins, manatees, turtles,...More

I'm prejudiced because i'm lucky enough to live on the River. My wife and I spend a majority of our time sitting in our Florida room watching the river flow and the nightly flight of flocks of birds heading up river to nest. We have...More

To watch the Hillsborough River in a nice cool day is very relaxing. A place to see Alligators and maybe some manatees. I enjoy it very much.

I have canoed this river for many years and never tire of the beauty and the wildlife always on display. Occasionally interrupted by power boaters, the farther up river you go , the less you are likely to be bothered by such outrages. Don't feed...More

Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the lazy alligators as we canoed down the river. Best to do on a sunny day when more gators are out.

The Hillsborough River winds its way through old Tampa and provides a potential resource for tourism. The river is not a particularly big river, but it brings the bay a little further in so everyone can enjoy it. We saw fishermen and bicyclists from Seminole...More

Considering kayaking Sargeant Park to Morris Brudge to Trout Creek with friends. Due to a bad back, need to get out of kayak a few times during the 7-1/2 mile run. Are there any stop off points along the route?

There are no boat rentals on the river. You can rent a canoe at the Hillsborough State Park. The most fun would be a canoe or kayak trip from the park down to USF.

Hi, dogs are allowed on a lease. There are several camp sites. I would recommend spring or fall. Summers are crowded and very humid and hot. Lots of insects. Winter is good too but it can get cold.
