The Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee is a 32,000 square-foot facility located on beautiful Kleman Plaza in downtown Tallahassee. The Center is the K-12 outreach facility of the Florida A&M University - Florida State University College of Engineering and uses aerospace as a theme to foster long-term interest in math, science, engineering and technology; create positive learning experiences; and motivate students to pursue higher education and careers in these fields. This is not a museum, it is a movie theater with a few toy rocket displays in the lobby. The planetarium is only open when they haven't rented the room for meeting space. Skip this one unless your coming to watch a movie.

The prices are reasonable and the popcorn is good. The seating is comfortable. The movie screen is worth the admission!!

I was visiting my family in South Ga, and we decided to go here on a cold rainy day. I have a 4 year old and the Perfect Little Planet show in the planetarium sounded just right for our family. I checked their website for the showtimes right before we left our house. When we got there, we were told... More

The attraction is are poorly well kept. The Imax used to be a big attraction but now it just reduced in popularity. The wait for a ticket is long too. I think they don't clean the glasses when they reuse it...

The Challenger Learning Center and its connected IMAX theater provide great educational and hands-on experiences for K! thru K12, As a chaperone for my grandchildren's classrooms, I also enjoyed the experience. Parking is reasonable if you can't ride the school bus. Also I am told that there is a great place to have lunch and wind down drink after you... More

Great place to learn about NASA's Challenger learning centers, experience planetarium shows for children and adults, and see great IMAX movies including first run features.

The best parts about the Challenger Center are the planned group activities. Summer camps are wonderful, and field trips are really fun as the class is split between mission control and astronauts with tasks to complete. For individuals, though, the planetarium is the most interesting part.

CLC does a bang up job of putting you in the mindset of Mission Control and NASA. The training exercise was very well done and the sets were very well done. Great job by the staff!

Every time we visit the IMAX it's worse. Filthy carpet in the concessions area, you enter the theater by checking out the brooms & trash cans. Seats are worn out & uncomfortable to sit in. A cleaning cleaning & refurbishing would go a long way. Doesn't help that the ticket taker kept goofing up and it took 10 minutes in... More
