This museum, near the state capitol, has wonderful displays of the very interesting history of the state of Florida. Free but donations accepted (encouraged). A lot of information on Native American groups that have lived in the region. Display captions in English and in Spanish....More

If you have kids you should take them at least 3 or 4 times while they are growing up. What a great experience for my 3 year old grandson who loves dinosaurs!

All the local schools bring kids here yearly to learn about different parts of history. It is a great learning experience.

Easy to find downtown, Parking is easy in the ramp, be sure to go to gift shop to ask for token for free parking. Nicely laid out, easy to follow, lots of things for all ages! Be sure to check out electric car from 1911!

Lots to see and read about Tallahasse / Florida history. Plenty of relics and pictures. Curator very nice and helpful.

I would suggest this museum to anyone who stops in Tallahassee. It guides you very nicely through Florida history including small exhibition regarding WW2. We enjoyed it very much and it took us approx 2 hours to go around. And on top: it is free...More

it all depends on your level of interest in the various exhibits, as others have aptly described. 3-4 hours would be completely adequate, I'd think. that would include time-outs for a snack and some sit down time to relax... More
