Alfred McKethan Park has always been known to the locals as Pine Island. It has been one of the counties landmarks for as long as I can remember and I'm pushing 70. I remember when there were a few small pavilions and some trash barrels,...More

It's a great place to visit, very clean & has plenty of amenities. Spectacular sunsets and refreshing breezes off the Gulf. It's a bit tucked away and that's fine with me, it's definitely not an overcrowded touristy beach :)

Always visit Pine Island when we come to the Gulf Coast. Stunning sunsets and a beautiful little haven to soak up the sun.

We drove out to this park to watch the sunset over the water, and we were not disappointed! The price was low, plenty of parking, and they had food and drink available. The only downside: their bathrooms were out of order!

The beach is nothing special but it is the only beach in Hernando county. Unfortunately the parking can be a real nightmare. We were here for the drum circle and many people had to drive away because there wasn't parking. It's a great idea to...More

Fishing is not permitted as far as I am aware. If so Florida fishing licenses are required except for residents over 65 years of age. .
