Great river trip

Love this river... saw monkeys, lots of water birds, turtles and even a few alligators. Very relaxing ride down the river into the springs

Ray Wayside Park, a county facility, offers picnic areas, restroom facilities, several ramps for power boats and an excellent ramp for launching paddle craft. Ample parking is provided. Access is from FL40 south of Silver Springs. Launch fee is $5, payable at the entry gate. Boaters launch into a tributary leading to the Silver River, where a 5.5-mile paddle takes... More

$4.00 gives you safe parking and easy access to the Silver River. Perfect for kayaking or boating. It is no wake and no fishing. Just enjoy the natural wonders.

Stopped here yesterday wanting to dip in water, but only really Boat launch dock & Kayak launch for water access. I dipped up to my ankles at the Kayak launch area, but of course it was muddy, murky & not suited for swimming or wading. There are some park equipment areas for children & I saw picnic tables under a... More

I have launched kayaks there before, to paddle up to Silver Springs and back. Participated in the Protest Paddle to help protect the springs and we all gathered here at the end of the paddle. I like that they accommodate kayakers and canoers as well as other boaters.

This is a perfect area for launching boats or kayaks to go either up the Silver River or down to the Ocklawaha.

This is the most picturesque river I have ever kayaked in. You will need to pay $5 to use the park. The restrooms are rundown but usable. They have two boat ramps and one kayak ramp. You will need to haul your kayak about 50 ft. over grass. Once you're out of the canal paddle up river to the Silver... More

Ray Wayside Park is mostly a boat launch for the silver River. We have put our kayaks in here many times and paddled up the Silver River to Silver Springs. Very reasonable. You can fish from the dock and there is places to picnic.

We used the Ray Wayside Park to launch from. It was only a $5 parking fee. We paddled up the river to the Silver Springs @ 4.7 miles up river. The water is so clear and cool. There is a mild current to the water which made the grasses below the water dance beneath us. It was beautiful. Peaceful. There... More

This is a little out of the way park that is used to access the Silver River. A lot of kayaks use it and some boaters. There was no one manning the pay station, so you had to use the honor system. Get a numbered envelope, tear off the top half, put it on your dash board. There is a... More
