No white sand, but a great beach!

The sand is more grey than white, but we thought it was easier to walk on and much cozier than the bigger, more crowded ones in the area. It's an easy walk to parking.

If you want to get away from the crowd of Siesta Beach, this beach may be for you. It isn't huge and the sand isn't as white, but there is plenty of parking, a lagoon where you can sometimes rent equipment to paddle...canoes and kayaks, a small play area for the kids, and an awesome restaurant, Turtles, nearby. It is... More

I visited this beach just by accidental discovery. Less crowd at the time of visit. Sand was grey/black and water was not as calm but it was a breezy afternoon. Sufficient parking , there is at least 1 or 2 restaurant nearby that were expensive according to my source. I suggest that you bring your own food and water .

Our family loved this beach. It wasn't crowded, a few fisherman and a few families. We brought a picnic lunch and stayed the day. A manatee swam right up to my daughter! Lots of shells and fish. If you like restaurants, showers, food right on the beach this is not the place for you. Very quiet and peaceful. The sand... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The campground had very nice facilities and the check in was very easy. The sites are small and you do you have certain size limitations so make sure you book the right type of site. Also wifi lol

Not too crowded, but the earlier the fewer people. Interestingly dark, almost black sand. Water may be a bit calmer than at siesta beach.

Picnic at Turtle Beach park was great. Sat on the beach watching the waves and a few kayakers in the water. Not as crowded as Crescent Beach or Siesta Beach, but the beach has a drop off and surf was rough that day. Beautiful beach, will be back to visit again.

We went to Turtle Beach after kayaking at the nearby Neville Marine Preserve. The water looked like the Caribbean! The sand was not as white as Siesta Key, but far fewer people! You can walk for miles to the end of the island.

If you are looking for a quiet spot in the sun, this beach is for you. There is not much happening on this beach except sunbathing. Families may prefer the Siesta Key beach for the playgrounds, volleyball nets and beach cafe.

Beautiful white sand and blue water! Clean and quiet. No lifeguard on duty. Large clean children's playground.
