This rare geologic feature is a great place to view birds and marine wildlife, and it is also next to a scenic beach.

Love walking along the point of rocks, low tide is the best time to scavenge shells. There are so many shells it is also very peaceful, walk it a few times every time we are here.

We walk to this area from Crescent Beach. Would love for it to be more accessible...guess there is a hotel or something there and a wall built, so hard to access the entire point unless you walk the top of the wall.

My son and I swam over to the point of rocks while staying at a resort on Crescent beach. People do climb along the sea wall but I decided that it wasn't safe or worth the risk of falling or slicing our feet open on...More

Awesome place to snorkel around the natural rock formations in the midst of several types of local fish. Crystal clear water that makes the snorkeling even better.

Since there is no nearby parking, this end of Crescent Beach is mainly for locals and condo residents. Beach entrance #13 is tucked away next to a mansion at the end of Point of Rocks road. No facilities, but a gorgeous beach!

Been coming here for 9 years, always walked to end of Crescent Beach to point of rocks, climbed up on wall and went around to rocks on other side, beautiful shells, better than you find on the beach Someone has now put up another cement...More

The shells here are awesome. I enjoy walking the beach and looking for the different kinds. I even found a tiny baby octopus that crawled out of my shelling bag...so cool!

This was a highlight of our trip. Once you get to the rocks, its like another world. Unbelievably more seashells, birds, fish, etc. The snorkeling here was amazing, tons of fish, dolphins, red rocks.

Many people use this point as the destination for their walk or jog however if you are agile enough you can get around the point and the beach is quite different than the one you just came from. Unlike the rest of the beach the...More

Seems to be some confusion. 1. When is the best time to snorkel, high or low tide? 2. When is the best time to walk and get around the wall, high or low tide?

I 100% agree with dwvonfischer. Best to snorkel at high tide (around the point if you like. No walking around the point required). Walk around the point at low tide. Bring water shoes - rocks can be sharp.
Can u fish at the point of rocks?

I think there is some rule about fishing from the shore and if you are Floridian (live here) then don't need license and if fish from boat then you do. I do know you are allowed to fish from point of rocks.
Tony, Where did you park at the Point of Rocks and how did you get to that location? We were in Siesta Key 2 years ago and could only access the side of the rocks where that house is on the point. Didn't find any good shells there. We are going in June and I hope to find a lot of nice shells to fill a lamp. Thanks for any advice you can share. Carrie
