The historical information about early Sarasota was good, but the food was disappointing. Nancy's Bar B Que had delicious beans (too small a portion) but dry pulled pork and tasteless cole slaw. Next to Owen's Fish Camp, one of my favorite restaurants with mixed results. The bloody mary drink with oyster was too spicy to even taste. The other dishes... More

As new residents to Sarasota, we received the culinary tour as a gift. What a lovely evening and a great experience! Loved walking and discussing some of the city's history. Gary did a wonderful job of explaining and entertaining. We had a lovely evening, enjoyed the food, and met some very nice people.

Experienced the Sarasota Culinary Tour yesterday with my husband, Aunt and Uncle. A really enjoyable afternoon walking around downtown Sarasota and sampling the best from Nancy's BBQ, Owen's Fish Camp, Caragulio's and finishing with yummy desserts from Pastry Art. While walking, our guide imparted a little bit Sarasota history and lore. We were stuffed and loved every bit of it.

Gary the guide knew the area well and told some good stories. We visited 3 restaurants and a coffee/dessert place. We were given plenty of food during the tour and it was mostly good. Bring enough small bills because there is an expectation to tip the wait staff in each place plus the guide.

Fun time with a stroll through town stopping at four eateries I would otherwise have never visited. Nancy's was excellent and made a special selection for a vegetarian in the group. Was not crazy about Owen's Fish Camp...all ambiance but food was not to my liking. Fried pickles and oyster shooters, no thanks. But, the shrimp and grits were awesome.... More

We were pleasantly surprised with our tour. Nancy's BBQ was excellent! I loved the gardens and blooming orchids at Owen's Fish Camp. It was casual and fun with old Florida seafood. The Italian was amazing and the sweets and coffee drinks at Pastry Art were the perfect topper. Everyone was gracious. The walk was a pleasant distance between stops. Gary,... More

This was our second visit to the Sarasota Culonary Tours, having done it a couple of years ago. We had the same guide, Gary, and he does a great job of making it interesting and fun. Our first stop was Nancy's BBQ, and the food is very good BBQ. Sliders, ribs, beans and coleslaw were tried here, all excellent. Second... More
