We always enjoy the trail especially from Laurel Rd South. Great views along the intercoastal and many parks and areas along the trail to stop and watch the boats go by. A great way to visit Venice. If you want to just put your head down and ride take Laurel north. Enjoy

My husband and I should have brought our bikes. The trail itself is beautifully maintained and well-marked, so I can see why people love it, but it was just a boring walk for the few miles we did.

Bring the family, friends, or ride solo, you will not be disappointed. The trail offers rest stops, water, and recently installed bicycle stations for repairing/maintaining your bicycle. If you want to ride safely, this is the place. Very protective street crossings, wide, clean trail, well marked, and you can even go "off trail" for some exciting wilderness trail experiences where... More

This paved trail is used by both walkers and bicyclists and we found week days less crowded than weekends. It's easy to move at your own pace and enjoy the scenery. It's helpful that each tenth of a mile is painted on the pavement for you to track your distance. Shaded benches and water are provided at intervals for anyone... More

I've been riding this for years and can't believe I've never reviewed it. This paved trail covers about 10 miles on an old railroad line. Sarasota County has invested a lot of money in this, and it is well maintained. I always take people here who are uncomfortable riding next to traffic on public roads, which can be a bit... More

This paved trail is great for walking or biking. Accessible from a park with a fee or free parking lots along the trail. It follows an old railroad bed with signs along the way to tell you about the history

The Legacy Trail is quite a long trail that encompasses parts of arado ta and Venice, to the south. Many parts of it are old railroad tracks that have been converted into this trail. At certain spots you have rest areas with benches and a roof, so you can be out of the sun or out of a downpour, although... More

The Legacy Trail is a popular multi-use trail with parking, rest and restroom facilities - even a few water stops! Well maintained, the Trail is the bicycling hub of Sarasota County, providing a safe spot for mile of recreational use. Efforts are underway to extend the trail as far south as Englewood, and as far north as Downtown Sarasota.

Enjoyed every moment of the trail ride. Active with other riders but not too crowded. Wonderful wildlife including birds and gopher tortoises, maybe a gator.
