On a family outing we had the pleasure of seeing this park. We saw large alligators out in the water and a baby alligator near the river walk. A first for me! Enjoyed seeing all kinds of birds and other wildlife. This is great for...More

One of the best natural gems on the Florida West Coast. Beautiful landscapes with a natural river and towering palms.

After several locals suggested a visit to this park, we headed north for the 1/2 hour drive. The park is a bit off the highway, but easy enough to find by following the signs. There is a small entrance fee. We had hoped to enjoy...More

We really enjoyed the airboat trip. It is a great place for both 'gater watching and bird watching. The tram trip through the area, with historical information, was enjoyable. I would highly recommend this trip for families with children school age and above.

There are very few good Florida inland state parks. This is the best I have been to. If you want a guarantee of seeing alligators this is the park for you. There are nice hiking trails, and a narrated boat ride on the lake.

We did several trails which were all worthwhile. Be cautious of alligators as on one of our walks we peered off a ledge on the water and saw a 12+ alligator just 4 feet below us. A little bit too close for comfort. Bird watching,...More

Can I bring my own personal golf cart so I can get around without walking are pedaling a bike

We saw a scooter for a handicapped person, but my sense is that a golf cart would not work. You would have to be mobile to enter the boat tour and the walk. Suggest you check with park services for handicap access.
