More
For nearly a century, the St. Petersburg Museum of History has shared the stories of the Sunshine City with visitors and residents alike. Stroll through the Sunshine City Gallery to learn the history of St. Petersburg – from pioneers and trains to World War II and World Famous Webb’s City. Don’t miss the Flight One Gallery, detailing the birth of commercial aviation right here in St. Petersburg, and see the first passenger aircraft that flew across the bay to Tampa – a trip that used to take hours before the W. Howard Frankland and Gandy bridges were built. The world's largest collection of signed baseballs was donated by local resident Dennis Schrader. The permanent exhibit features original documents, story boards and video screens connecting America’s national pastime with historical events from the region and around the world. Visit St. Petersburg’s oldest resident – an authentic 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy as well as a replica of King Tut’s Tomb.

The Museum published ads in the Tampa Bay Times, posted on its website and had a sign out front promoting the opening day for a new Road Sign exhibition. The hours of the museum are 10-5 on weekdays and 12-5 on Sunday. Remember, this was...More

For its small size, this museum does reasonably well - exhibits are well organized and planned, and care taken in their presentation. I have always wished this museum was larger and that more of St. Pete's pre-historic past could be told; there is a long...More

Highly recommend checking out the St. Pete Museum of History! My husband and I took his parents and then had lunch at Moon Under Water. It was a perfect way to spend a beautiful St. Pete afternoon.

Paid $15 to see sub-par items, many with no identification - almost as if this was some sort of collection of things from a personal collection and the owner didn't recall what the item was or where it came from. Then they have the nerve...More

Not great - very over priced, small museum. They could easily fit more into the building or drop the price tag

Clean, easy access, and staff into it and helpful. But baseball exhibit is highlight and would have been a rip off ($15) without groupon ($25 for 4...and we only has 3)..Worse ways to spend 90 min or so but no desire to return..

Unlike other downtown museums in this area, this one has a free parking lot. Unfortunately, this is its best feature. I learned a few random facts about the city's history . . . where a lynching took place, how often "the pier" has been rebuilt,...More

It was a nice way to get a quick orientation about the history of the area. Need to do a lot of reading on the displays. World's largest collection of autographed baseballs was interesting if you are into baseball. One of our group loves baseball....More
