This was a pleasant surprise for me. Not what I expected, much, much better! A ton a history, the buildings are fantastic. Lots of shopping and sight seeing. You really need to spend a few days here to do it justice. Great restaurants.

Oldest city in the U.S. so lots of history with old buildings, great little shops and fantastic restaurants. Couldn't find anywhere with free parking unless you booked a trolley tour (very popular- they're always running). That said, parking by the Castillo de San Marcos monument is only about $6 for 4 hours and we found that was enough time for... More

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a place that is designed with the tourist in mind. I also understand that if you are one of, if not the oldest city in the USA you should try and sell it. I just found that there were several attractions that just seemed cheap and out of place. I've been to "old... More

St Augustine manages to pack in lots of remnants of American history yet still be vibrant today. Besides the 500-year old fort, you have the 100-year old hotel past with gardens and parks from the Victorian age that romanticized Spain in architecture, street names, tiles, fountains and shady plazas. Now restored and continuing to get better, the Old City's many... More

This is a very walkable town - we walked from St George St the Distillery on Ribiera Street (Lincolntown area) in probably 15-20 minutes) There is a trolley that will take you anywhere and give you some history and you can hop off and back on but we found the town so walkable that we went everywhere! Lots more to... More

If you love history, culture, architecture and outdoors. Come travel in time with the rich history that is Old St. Augustine. For first time visitors I recommend to take a trolley or walking guide for a general history tour. After that, go and explore some more on foot and read, take pics and ask questions to the locals for more... More
