As a certified tour guide for the city of Saint Augustine I always love bringing my kids that come to St. Augustine for their Florida history field trips. This is a very Hands-On experience for the kids. It is absolutely a must schedule if you handle your school's field trips to St. Augustine. It is not to be missed. They... More

My Husband and I visited Fort Menendez just out of curiosity. Upon entering the gift shop, we were greeted by a friendly face and offered a tour. We absolutely loved the guided tour. It was a fun and amazing step back in history.

Ft. Menendez is a wonderful place for kids to learn about the early lives of both the Spanish and Indians in early St. Augustine. It's a hands-on environment that makes learning history fun. Our granddaughter has visited three times and intends to go back again and again when she visits. (She's currently eight.) I heartily recommend a visit.

I have driven by Ft. Menendez several times, so today I went inside. Starting with the gift shop/ticket counter, everyone was friendly and helpful. Both tour guides were very informative and entertaining. Laura, the second guide, was extremely good. She was able to keep the tour interesting for the adults, while maintaining to keep the young children engaged.

Love this fort. It was very hands on and the kids had a blast. You get to make candles and my middle son got to be the helper. They also have a cat that stays there and the cat was very frienldy.

As a teacher I appreciate the amount of information presented during this tour. As a crafter I wanted to try the quill and ink instead of having the guide scribble on my passbook. I loved all the hands on activities but felt rushed to participate until we got to the Timuquan village.

Only 3 stars as this would not be a great choice for adults, but if you are going with kids from 2-12, it's great. The history exhibits are all kid friendly and interactive-touching is encouraged! The staff were wonderful with the children, kept them interested and engaged. Not expensive, plan on 1 and a half hours.

A fabulous place to learn through hands on experience. Play games, make corn meal, handle weapons, and sit on the chiefs throne. Very interesting visit for all ages.

My 9 year old daughter and I came on a field trip a month ago and then decided to bring my husband and 8 year old daughter since my 9 year old couldn't stop talking about it. I even learned something new each time. This is kind of touristy but actually very educational. I haven't been to anything like it... More

This 10th fort on this site. The other 9 were made of wood and were burned down. This is awesome museum. We were there in time to see them fire a cannon. You can drive a car to this site. But we took a trolley tour and was dropped off within one book. So we walked over. It cost 10.00... More
