Why have we waited so long to visit? Great fun for everyone. Many interactive games and history lessons that are intriguing. I thought the fort was going to be one of those tourist traps because the outside was obviously not an authentic fort. Go see the fort and hear the stories. We will return.

Excellent stop on A1A, Nice nature trail, Mobility Scooter accessible, Rest Rooms Ranger on sight demonstrating period firearms on the day we went. Sadly, the ferry landing was damaged by Hurricane Matthew and we couldn't go to the fort itself, :( I hope they get it fixed soon

The entire fort has signs and documents explaining what you are seeing and the history behind the fort. In addition, there are park rangers AND tour guides throughout that are happy to answer any questions you may still have. Forts aren't usually my thing but with all the information, I really enjoyed seeing this one!

When I took my mother here, we had intended to ride the ferry over the fort, but that was closed for the time being. We did explore the little museum and look at the fort from the dock, but we both still really enjoyed it. It isn't anything glamorous, but there's a lot of history here, and the park is... More

If you've never visited one then you should definitely go, otherwise not any different architecture and situation than other forts which were built to protect the city.

We tend to visit a lot of forts, but this one was somewhat unique due to its age, history, and construction. The views were great. Since this site is a national monument, our National Park Golden Pass gave us free admission. There were short talks in several different areas of the fort and we enjoyed the narration. The fort is... More

Neat little experience. Short nature walk, good view of the area. Small historical exhibit. Love to see this area expanded.

The friendly rangers are ready to answer any questions from visitors. When we drove up, I didn't know of the French presence in Florida. Within a few minutes, I did. Don't miss the short movie. When we were there the free ferry wasn't running to the fort, but the stop was well worth the hour.
