A visit to the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum is more than...

A visit to the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum is more than you might expect! Climb 219 steps for a breathtaking view of both St. Aug and the beaches. Or go below to discover object from a British shipwreck. Take free with admission guided tours at 11 am, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm. Or come early at 9 am to beat the heat. Late in the day is also cooler and we are open all summer until 7 pm. Families can enjoy a self guided tour that includes a shipyard playground and a short nature trail. A small-craft boat building exhibition is on site, and you can see archaeologists at work on objects from under the sea. In the keepers' house see "At Home with the Harns in Post Civil War Household," which tells the story of Major William Harn who was at both Ft Sumter and Gettysburg as an artillery commander. He and his family lived as lighthouse keepers for 20 years after the war. Also climb aboard the sandbar in WRECKED! an exhibition about a 1782 British shipwreck following the American Revolution. Our Archaeologists have discovered this story just for you. Visitors can also encounter ghosts and spirits on the nighttime, Dark of the Moon tour, which is the only St. Augustine ghost tour that gets you inside the Lighthouse tower. Book this tour in advance because it fills up fast. And book mid-week to avoid the crowds. For general admission purchase your tickets on-line in advance w/coupon code LH15 to get a 15% discount off regular admission prices. Or join on the porch with a family membership for discounts to local attractions, and 20% off in the Museum shop as well as free admission all year long. There is always more to come at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.

The climb to the top is challenging if you're out of shape, but so worth it! The view from the top was amazing & the history was very well relayed in the displays. Guests are allowed to explore at their own pace & the grounds are very well kept. We hope to visit again in the future!

I didn't go up in the lighthouse, because I physically can't. Plus, a little pricey. However, the shop and surrounding area is very nice and worth the trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the lighthouse. The trip to the top provided wonderful views and exercise but very doable. Several landings provide opportunities to catch your breath. Admissions include the museum, light keepers house, beautiful grounds, narrated tour and local boatbuilding. It was well worth the price. Ticket discounts available online. Enjoy!

Very interesting lighthouse and museum. Awesome view from the top. Fairly strenous climb and wouldn`t recommend for someone elderly or out of shape.

For $12.95/ adult it is well worth the visit. There's a nice gift shop where u buy the tickets. Good prices on souvenirs. Bought a USA made ornament for $6.95. Enjoyed the climb and of course the views from the top. At noon their was a 45 min tour that was optional but included in the admission. We stayed on... More

We loved the guided tour of the lighthouse grounds. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. The boats they are building there are fascinating and the displays of artifacts brought up on dives are amazing!

This was one of my favorite things in Saint Augustine. The keeper's house was lovely and interesting, but the lighthouse itself was quite astonishing. I also didn't know I'd have an issue climbing the stairs to the top as I've never had a fear of heights or spiral staircases lol but I was feeling woozy after floor 3 haha otherwise,... More

Very pretty and restored beautifully. Great photo ops. Views from the top are amazing. To get to top you have to walk 219 steps but there are several landings to rest on. Nice tour guides give a good history of the place.

This is a great piece of history in St. Augustine!! You can climb all the way to the top and see such a beautiful view of our beloved city!! The climb can be hard for some but worth it! You can tour the gift shop as well!

We visited the St. Augustine Lighthouse in December 2016. The views of St. Augustine from the top of the lighthouse are amazing, especially on a clear day at sunset. The museum is extremely informative and interesting and the gift shop has many unique and reasonably priced items. Definitely recommend and we plan to return.
