We usually take the river cruises for the old taste of Florida. My church group has had our annual picnic there. Much history was made at this site. I am not going to give too much info so people will be curious to visit. Schools groups etc.... Still learning to forward pictures - not sure I can do it.

Sitting along Spruce Creek, this is a great place for canoeing, kayaking or rent an above water "buggy" and pedal up the creek. Rentals available. Pirates give a pontoon tour for children and guides know all about the flora & fauna along the way. Peacocks can usually be seen around the office, a chicken might be nesting on the grounds.... This is great place to reconnect with the way Florida was before massive development. We rented kayaks and paddled up and down Cracker Creek. You can rent canoes and other watercraft as well. We saw a ton of wildlife including lots of turtles hanging out on logs. It was so gorgeous there and you run out of energy before you... More

If it's windy at the shore you can try to go inland. Cracker Creek is perfect for those days! It's not far from New Smyrna, less than half an hour without traffic. It's cool and shady with protection from the wind. The kayak rentals aren't too expensive though the equipment is pretty beat up. Two hours is plenty to see... More

We love to kayak from this place, we see lots of wild life and most of the time we see gators. It is never crowded there and you can drive right to the water to unload.

We kayak here every time we visit Florida and have never been disappointed. We bring our own kayaks, but rentals are available for kayaks or canoes as well as Hydro Bikes. Two hour Eco-History Pontoon Boat Tours are also scheduled on weekends - all at reasonable prices. For those who have their own boats, the charge is $5 for each... More
