This spans a wide range, from prehistoric Indians through early settlers up to Bertha Palmer. It is a pleasant place to walk and learn. Start out in the visitor center and watch the movie. It helps prepare you for the site.

This is a very pleasant historical site near Sarasota FL. It can be explored on foot with or without a guide as it is well marked/signed. There is a museum, an interesting audiovisual program in a burial mound, a citrus packing house and a small...More

We'd forgotten how nice this place is. It won't be such a long time before we visit again. Quiet, relaxing, we really enjoyed it.

Spent a lovely Mother's Day at beautiful Spanish Point. Your walking tour has identifying signs at plants and trees. History signage, tapes and informed guides is so interesting! Walk is lovely by the water!

Went here with husband for a morning selfguided tour. Spent about an hour here as we felt the guided tour was going to be too long in the heat. We enjoyed the formal gardens and a tour of the old homestead. Also very informative to...More

You will see and learn a lot of "old Florida" history here. It's pretty amazing what the first settlers of Florida went through to establish homes and lives. But the history of this place goes thousands of years back, which makes it even more interesting....More

everybody's answers are very accurate. My big tip is just read the signs. We drove past it at first but saw it. Definitely look for Historic Spanish Point, RIGHT after the Oaks neighborhood.
