- B_M_P2 contributionsWait… wait… wait…Rides are fun but charge less or sell less day passes. No reason to wait 80 minutes to ride a 90s ride. Lines are so long that you only have time to ride 4-5 before the day is over. Money grab business I suppose. Do something else with your family. Waiting in line is a bummer, the express pass is $200 more than base pass and their lines seem just as long.Hi there. Thank you for your review. - David LShrewsbury, United Kingdom144 contributionsreturn visit 2022 UNIVERSAL STUDIOSthis was our first visit to the parks since 2019 so we had a lot of catching up to do as we were staying for a month (off site) we had purchased UOAP Premier passes we were expecting some changes and overall highly enjoyed our visits .0n the plus side we enjoyed the use of a express pass after 4pm and the discounts on food drink and merchandise we enjoyed the range of rides revisiting such favourite's as E.T., Kang and koda, MIB, etc. and the superb passholders lounge which allowed us to rest during busy times ( altho rumour has it closing). now the down sides the amount of construction walls was a disappointment they seemed to be everywhere citywalk seemed to be getting more crowded with stalls selling merchandise a lot of which was available in the stores. on the Hogwarts express a ride we have taken many times both ways we found the internal door screens showed a very faded out lines of characters so much so that on one journey the other occupants of the compartment did not see what was happening at all ,its not as sharp as it used to be its faded blurred and fuzzy i think it needs cleaning overall we enjoyed our visit so much we have booked to come over to the USA in May( we live in the UK) for a week as well as our normal 3 week holiday in October 2023Hi David. Thank you for your review. I am thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Universal Studios Florida, and that you are a part of the Universal Orlando Annual Passholder family! Aren't our attractions just amazing? Make sure you check out Revenge of the Mummy during your next visit, it is my favorite! I am sorry to hear of any disappointment regarding our construction updates, as well as for any disappointment regarding the maintenance of our attractions. - Tim WNew York City, New York35 contributionsVIP Experience is WAY OverstatedVIP Experience is nothing more than an upgraded Fast Pass with three meals! Definitely NOT worth the BIG $$$$$$ they charge. The entire first part of the day is a complete HASSLE. Parking was frustrating, finding the VIP building and the guide was a twenty question event with a bunch of unguided walking. Food was average certainly not VIP worthy. Guide was knowledgeable and professional however not really supported by Universal. For this experience my expectations were not nearly met and for the money I paid for eight people I was completely dissatisfied. Universal will not be on my list of Florida attractions going forward.Hi Tim. Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear of any disappointment regarding your VIP Tour experience. - iotZoetermeer, The Netherlands39 contributionsDo your research before you go!On December 19 we visited both Universal Parks in Orlando. We also had express-passes because we knew it would be a busy period. In the morning the waittimes were not bad, but in the afternoon even the waitlines with expresspass got enormously long, too long, for some attractions. But that was not the only issue. In the two parks there are too many attractions that do basicly the same: shake around as much as possible, giving you a headache or even a sick feeling. If you compare Universal with Disney, then at Disney the variety of attractions is so much bigger, making these parks more interesting for people who don't want to experience more or less the same with many attractions (especially in the Studio park!). Then lunch: if you don't mind standing in line for a lunch for 30 to 45 minutes, you are at the right spot. And if you do so, be happy if you also find a table to eat your lunch! Positive things: Seuss Landing is very nice and so is the Hogwarts Express and the parade. I don't do rollercoasters, but my kids loved them! Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to do Gringrotts because of the long wait. During the day they keep on selling express passes, so it looks there is no maximum for the amount of express passes available per day, making standby lines extremely long. Also very nice is spending some time at the City Walk.Hi there, Thank you for this review. While I'm happy to hear that your family enjoyed some aspects of your visit, I'm disappointed to hear that your overall visit was not what you'd hoped. We always work to ensure that attendance levels are maintained so that all our Guests may have an enjoyable visit. Additionally, it's our goal to provide a wide variety of rides and attractions with something for everyone, and I sincerely apologize if your experience did not reflect this. Please know your feedback has been documented, and it will be passed along to the appropriate leadership teams for their review. - Lucy Belle31 contributionsHolidays at Universal Studios OrlandoHolidays at Universal Studios Orlando was pretty amazing! The decorations are so beautiful, especially in Seuss Landing. The benefits of visiting for the holidays includes Christmas shows like "Grinchmas" and special events like the holiday parade. Also, we stayed at a Universal Resort and they offered special things for the guests there as well. There was a tree lighting ceremony, Santa visited and we saw ice skaters as well as special guest appearances from the minions as well as King Julien. it was a really special trip and we had so much fun! I gave it only a 4 because it was very crowded and we experienced some rudeness during our stay. Rudeness from fellow guests who cut line and others who literally ran into us physically because they did not watch where they were going! This is not Universal's fault, but to avoid this, my recommendation is to not go on a weekend.Hey Lucy, Thank you so much for this review! I'm so glad you got to enjoy our Holiday activities, and even stopped in for some heart-growing fun over in Who-ville. However, I am sorry for any disappointment with the crowds you encountered, and for the behavior you mentioned our Team Members displaying. I'll be sure to share all of your feedback with the proper teams. Hopefully, we can welcome you back for a better vacation in the future, and encourage you to explore the fun over at Universal's Volcano Bay Water Theme Parks - in the warmer month of course! -ChrisyWritten 14 January 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Written 13 January 2023
- Richard_Harpum1,807 contributionsOver-priced. Get there early. My wife and I visited Universal Studios during a Florida vacation. My wife had never been before and it was over 20 years since my last visit, so a great deal had changed since then. We had purchased a 3-park package before leaving the UK, although the water park (Volcano Bay) was closed on the days we had that were free, so the cost worked out to around USD 230 each per day with the USD 27 parking charges. I don’t expect a refund for the closed water park. Fortunately, I had printed off a map before we left home, which was just as well, as these are no longer available with visitors expected to use their smartphones. For those of us who use their phone as a phone and don’t spend half their lives staring at it or downloading every app they can think of, this seems rather short-sighted, especially as finding your way around without a printed map is quite confusing. Although this was the second week in January, which is supposedly one of the quietest periods, the place was packed. Even though we arrived before the gates were opened, we soon found that some of the wait times were longer than we were prepared to endure, although on a positive note, the posted wait times were usually rather more than they turned out to be. We headed straight for The World of Harry Potter and took the Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts ride, which was quite good. We then boarded the Hogwart’s Express, which is a real train that takes passengers to the Island of Adventure Pd the Harry Potter attractions at the other park including Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The architecture in that area is extremely well done. We then headed back to Universal Studios on the train. The other attractions that we were able to get on and which we enjoyed the most were: Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Transformers 3D ride, Men in Black, and the Bourne Spectacular. A good day out but overpriced for what we experienced.Hi Richard, Thank you so much for leaving this review. I'm sorry to see your disappointment with the crowds around our parks, as well as with our ticket pricing. I'll be sure to share your feedback regarding all of this with the proper teams. I do we can see you back for a better adventure on your next visit, and encourage you to explore the theme park benefits included with the Universal Hotels! -ChrisyWritten 14 January 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited January 2023Written 14 January 2023

- adia18265 contributionsAmazing if you like the universal brandsAmazing place to go if you like any the theme area there. As a Harry Potter, I took the 2 parks in one day card. Give you the option to visit Hogsmeade / Hogwarts part on adventure island and Diagon alley on the park (connected via Hogwarts express, Hogsmeade and King’s Cross stations respectively). For the Harry Potter experience, one day will do (you can do all the ride in half a day and enjoy a lot more of the parks as well) Go and see the Hogwarts spectacular at the evening. If you want to only do one park - adventure island is more recommended. The marvel and Jurassic park part are recommended as well. The Dr. Seuss part is adorable. It’s very enjoyable to go for a stroll at the Hollywood/ New York/ San Francisco part if you need a break. A lot of the rides has a shorter line for solo rider. ( I think it’s even faster than the fast pass line) The only bad thing in the park is the lack of variety in vegetarian/ vegan options at the parkHey there, Adi! Thank you for your positive review! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us, and appreciate the recommendations you provided for others! I LOVE E.T. Adventure and I recommend riding it on your next visit if you did not this time around. - Jason WWells, Maine174 contributionsNeeds something new.I always loved Universal and Islands, but Universal started falling when they got rid of some classics like Jaws, Back to the Future, and Earthquake. Only to replace them with new version of the same thing. Jimmy Fallon, simulation ride, Fast and Furious, Simulation ride. Transformers. Simpsons, Minions. Still some sort of simulation rides. The two rollercoasters are the biggest hits. But the Bourne stunt show, I'll say was a surprise. Loved It!Hey Jason, Thank you very much for this review. - Steve V28 contributionsSplit park but its a good day outUniversal have split their park into two as it has grown. This side is Studios - lots of different events and shows, and a few coasters, but the main coaster rides are in Islands. They have split the Harry Potter items into both parks, with a train from platform 9 3/4 between them. This one is a great day out with a lot of variety, but still feels a bit pricey, and parking fees as well if you dont use the International Drive bus.Hi Steve, Thank you so much for this review! While I'm glad to see how much you enjoyed our parks and our rides, I do regret any disappointment with our pricing. I'll be sure to share your feedback with the proper teams. A great experience for anyone into rides, attractions and movies
Each land is meticulously themed down to the last detail and each ride is amazing.
A couple of mute points though. The amount of visual based attractions compared to physical e.g. rollercoasters etc s high so if you get motion sick etc then this may not suit.
Also found some of the areas to just have filler decor rather than fully serving a purpose such as around the bay area etc.
Apart from the above, a great day out!

First time visit to Universal studios as a family. Loved the atmosphere and the rides. Would recommend living on the Universal priorities if you are a visitor, makes the travel to and fro to the parks easy. Lots of dining options and non-stop fun!

We went on a weekday in December, so the waiting times were pretty ok… never more than 25min. The app of the park is helpful too where you can setup alerts when a the wait time of a particular attraction drops below a certain time. We managed to do each attraction without rushing and without having the express pass.
If there is something negative to say, than that the “thrill rides” are to much 3D/4d rides rather than actual rollercoasters. So the “thrill” is very limited and the islands of adventure might be the better choice

We loved it! All the rides, sights, and smells were exactly what a theme park should be. We have an ADA pass for our autistic son and everyone treated him so kindly. They worked with us on times to come back to the ride, and let us leave the line to one ride when it was having difficulties and my son couldn’t handle the wait. The food was on par for theme park fare. Good, but high priced. We went two weekends in a row and the park was even better the second weekend. I’m glad the park is much better than their resorts.

The three broomsticks inside the wizarding world of Harry Porter was not a good experience. The cashier taking our orders continued to put his fingers in his mouth and bite his nails. It was continuous. Not sanitary at all! He even went to the kitchen and helped with drink preparation. Also, the fruit was not ripe and the bread was very hard and not warmed up for the continental breakfast. Did I want to waste time waiting on a manager so I can tell them about this on my vacation? No. Vacation time is very precious especially at this park with the lines, etc. Just so you know they charge $17.00 each for the breakfast prepared this way. That’s over $70 for a family of 4. There should be better sanitation and better food. The people putting our food and drinks on the trays did not have hair nets. The chefs in the back did have hair coverings, however, anyone handling food needs have proper sanitation guidelines and no one should have their fingers constantly in their mouth. Overall customer service was lacking. I understand the workers deal with a lot of rude and foreign people and some of the employees may be foreign, but a smile and verbal instruction as well as pointing would be considerate to give paying customers. I saw employees get asked where to get something and the employee just pointed. Also why are there not places to get water for free. I understand the corporations need more of our money by charging $7 for a bottle of water. However, dehydration is real and water stations should be included for them to refill bottles they bring. We are annual pass holders and we have seen a digression in the customer service and sanitation in the parks. Hand sanitizer pumps not refilled , some even Torn off the wall, like in the train station. They need more visits from corporate and sanitation to see what’s going on and fix it.

This is great if you like simulators and fast rides. I thought the Harry Potter area was incredibly well designed but everything else was meh. Most rides are simulators so meh too. I was expecting a bit more variety after having spent a couple of days at Disney but was truly disappointed. I hopt they add more realistic areas that you can just visit and relax in. We thought the park was actually fairly small.

Overall like the park — more compact than Disney and cool themes and more thrill rides. Loved Harry Potter experiences. We spent way more $$$ here than Disney once inside — the Harry Potter robes, wands, etc are expensive. Biggest complaint issue by far was service nowhere near Disney and I dealt with one extremely rude and incompetent ride attendant on the MIB ride who ruined part of our day.

We only had one day to visit the parks, on Thanksgiving (which is a heavy attendance week), so I wanted to cover as much as possible so I purchased a private VIP tour.
We had an amazing time, getting to walk on every ride without any wait while learning all about them was fantastic.
Our guide, Kendall, has worked there for 15 years and was so much fun to spend the day with (try to request him).
Our meals were phenomenal (Mythos and Big Fire- shoutout to Lonnie and Josh for taking such good care of us.)
We were a group of 6 and everyone had the best time. We were there from open to close.

I will start with the good Universal Studios is still an excellent theme park, the attention to detail particularly in Diagon Alley is great and the park is well maintained. Most of the rides are great, Revenge of the Mummy and escape from Gringotts are the best rides in the park. A couple of rides are terrible including the new Minions blaster ride and The fast and the furious ride (wish they'd just bring back Disaster...). The food though is near universally bad... the minions cafe was the only place we ate were food was ok. Everywhere else even with AP discount is more expensive than Disney and feels lower quality. In Disney I feel as though the food is as much a part of the experience as the rides, in Universal I am considering every other option before I eat there. The Team members in the food and beverage areas are almost all universally rude and do their best to have entire interactions with you without opening their mouths. Some of the team members in the express line areas also do their best not to speak to you which is disappointing when you are paying extra for a better experience which they then do their best to sour. We will be back as we have our APs and in fairness to Universal the annual pass perks are very good.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. While I am happy to hear that you enjoyed most of our attractions, I am disappointed to hear about the quality of your meals and your interactions with our Team Members. We train our Team Members to assist our Guests in a professional and courteous manner and I sincerely apologize for any inconsistency you may have experienced during your visit. I will make sure your feedback is documented to share with the proper leadership teams for further internal review. We had a great time despite the crowds. They really could close down a couple of areas and expand the Harry Potter section of the park, as the crowds were insane. Pay the extra money and get the Fast Pass, its definitely worth it. The Jurassic Park ride was the best one in the park, to me. Some of the staff definitely look worn out, as I'm sure they probably regularly get. There's plenty of food options, mostly in the very front of the park, right after the entrance. I would advise to arrive early, preferably when the park opens, as the lines only get longer as the day progresses. The parking is also plentiful, and the rideshare pickup area is a short walk front the entrance gate.

We hired a villa in Kissimmee. It was about 25 mins away from universal and about 10 mins from Disney. Great for getting in and off the I4. Pool very well used. 😁

Hi, I haven’t been to this park in decades. Can an active family do the hot attractions/Harry Potter world in a day?

Definitely we went first time and did it in a day. Hogworts express train takes you from one park to the other ( hogsmead to diagon alley). Obviously if you want to stop and look in every shop and every show it will be longer. The hagrid ride is fantastic! We went again in Aug just gone, but they had freak extreme heat and it was too warm so we went back a second day. Alot has changed there now new rides etc the refill cups still good idea though. Enjoy!

Hi there. As long as you have an Order Number and your valid photo ID, you can pick up your tickets at Guest Services! I hope this helps.

Can you pick up your pre-booked park tickets at the Universal Dock Side inn hotel?
Hello! You can definitely pick up park tickets at the Destination Universal Desk in the lobby of Universal's Endless Summer Dockside Inn & Suites. They're currently open from 7:00AM-8:00PM, though these hours are subject to change. Keep in mind that Annual Passes on FlexPay cannot be picked up at the hotel, as they do not have access to print off contracts.

What time do the ticket desks open at Universal/Islands of Adventure? I have to pick up & pay for our tickets we have booked.
Hi there! Our ticketing windows will open about thirty minutes to one hour before the park opens, including prior to Early Park Admission if it is being offered that day.

Is daytime Universal in October still too scary for littles? Ages 3, 7, 8.
Hey there, while our parks may be decorated for Halloween Horror Nights in October, the nighttime event activities will not creep into our regular day time operation. Any of our more intense decorations should be covered or hidden during regular park hours. Please know, Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk to not participate in this event, and will not have any spooky decorations up, and may be better suited for younger Guests. I hope this helps you plan your visit!

In order to enter the park without wanting to ride any of the attractions, do I have to pay?
Hey Valeska, as our parks contain a variety of experiences for our Guests, more than just our attractions, we do not offer non-rider tickets. I definitely recommend checking our website for our current pricing and ticket promotions. I can't wait to see you around the Universe!

My wife doesn't do the rides but wants to be with us for the day. Is there a cheaper ticket for people who aren't interested in the rides?
Hi Nick, our parks offer a variety of experiences for all our Guests to enjoy, going beyond just the rides to immerse our Guests in the fun and adventure of our parks. Due to this, we don't offer non-rider tickets. I definitely encourage exploring our website for our current pricing and ticket offers to help you plan your visit with us.
