Though the Alexander Springs website says dogs on leashes are permitted, we drove an hour and a half with our miniature poodle to learn at the gate that we couldn't take him down with us to view the springs - Dog safety from possible gators attacks etc was cited as the reason. Dogs are, however, permitted in the campground -... More

We will never go back to this place. Ever. Booked our rv site 4 months ago. Arrived today and were told one of their soon to be fired employees had decided to switch up some of the customers on the sites and she had given ours away. The people refused to move and the manager suggested calling the police to... More

We went kayaking for the first time. Where better to do this at. Why not here where the gators can eat us for lunch. I loved the area. It was a good lesson to visit a place that the worst can happen. Anything else is nothing compared to this. Love the place. I will be back when visiting in the... More

Be sure to get there early in the morning, during summer hours, as the park fills up quick. Lots of shaded picnic tables and pavilions. Water is clear with an interesting deep area over the spring. Diving is permitted as well as a canoe run. There is also a lovely nature trail, but be sure to put bug spray on... More

What a great spring. The water is crystal clear and pretty shallow for most of the spring area. Practiced my newly acquired diving skills with an easy 22 foot depth dive. Bathrooms were clean. It's a little walk from the parking lot to the spring but they had lots of picnic tables and grills. Would totally go back and try... More

If you visit, it's $5.50 per person. If you want to camp, it's $22.00. If you do camp, make sure to bring bug repellent- the mosquito's are hungry. The spring is pretty awesome. Although, there's nothing much more to see if you go diving or snorkeling. The water feels cold at first, but you get used to it fast. I... More

Alexander Springs is a little slice of heaven. It sits in the middle of the Ocala National Forest. It is a naturally fed spring . The water is 72 degrees year round. The water is so clear you can see to the bottom of the springs. In addition this is a popular spot for the local scuba divers. There is... More

I have camped here twice and LOVE it! The campsites are pretty nice and spacious. Keep in mind that you are in the Ocala National Forest. Wildlife is everywhere! Keep your food in bear proof containers and clean your campsite of trash before leaving the campsite to hike, kayak, etc. and definitely before turning in for the night. The campgrounds... More

Alexander Springs is located in the Ocala National Forest about and an hour and a half north of Orlando, Florida. It is one of the many natural springs that are prevalent on the Florida peninsula, and is a Recreation Area in the Ocala National Forest. That means there's a restroom, showers, shop and paved parking lot, along with boardwalks and... More

Had originally planned to visit Blue Spring, but it was full by half nine, so tried Alexander instead and was relieved there was still space nearly an hour later. the area is shady, exotic and natural, with trails and signs to be careful with bears - bins are bear proof, so they will be around! From the visitor centre you... More
