First of all, if you are looking for a farm experience for young children, this is not it. ECHO is an NGO committed to helping small farmers in poverty stricken areas worldwide use sustainable practices to support themselves and their families. There are two tours--one of the farm and another about how discarded items can be recycled to provide technology... More

There were 12 of us on their tour that takes you through various growing regions located in the tropical climates. You see how their regional centers help people grow food in areas where this is hard to do. A great opportunity to learn how fortunate we are and how we can help people in poorer countries learn to grow food.

I just completed a group tour of ECHO with about ten friends. It was outstanding! This is a wonderful educational foundation with a practical mission --- to help the hungry of the world feed themselves through low-tech farming practices designed for the individual farmer in third world countries. The tour was approx. two hours long and fascinating. I learned all... More

I love visiting ECHO. I have bought all of my fruit bearing plants and trees from ECHO. They have a great selection. If you enjoy gardening, it is a really nice place to tour as well.

We took the tour today with our friends and thorougly enjoyed the educatonal experience of what they are trying to do at ECHO. Facinating stuff that can be used around the world that allows people to sustain themselves in less than desirable agricultural conditions. I have been associated with agriculture my entire career and thought this was very good. Be... More

This was a fascinating visit that had me explore environmentalism in a totally different way. Their approach to supporting Third World nations is smart and effective- not taking North American solutions and imposing them on other countries. Our guides, Sally and John, were knowledgeable, interesting and passionate about the work being done. They were quick to admit that they didn't... More

I would have never guessed that so many everyday items that are tossed out can be put to good use in turning nothing into something. The techniques they use at ECHO can teach all of us to be better earth citizens. A must visit if you are in the area.

Tour provides lots of information on how Echo works globally and the processes and techniques employed. There are some livestock, but this is not a petting zoo. Very small children may have a hard time with this tour. The tour is on dirt roads and may be not be great for those with limited mobility. The variety of farming methods... More

As a long time volunteer at ECHO, I am pleased to highly recommend a visit to this attraction . You will enjoy a visit which is inspiring, educational, and involves participants actively as they tour the farm. Tropical plants, agricultural techniques, animals and appropriate agricultural techniques are all aspects of the tour that help visitors to understand farming in different... More
