We did this 3 years ago with or get picked friends. The emcee is fun- be prepared to sing along or get picked on before the big race.

Tim puts on a great show with a lot of good-natured joking with the audience participating as well. If you've never seen crab races, this is a must-see and go-to dinner when you're in Captiva.

This is the one event we won't miss. If you wan't a fun time with lots of laughs, this is the place to be. You have to be ready to be poked fun at. That's part of the silliness. If you're thin skinned, this is not the place for you. That being said, get ready for the zaniest race you... More

I've never heard of such a thing, but yes you can gamble on a hermit crab. You pay $5 bucks and pick a crab out of the pot and ta da! You are entered into a fun evening of entertainment. The host is funny and witty and loves to pick on people so if you would be insulted, keep your... More

We went to the early crab race last week with our two kids (7 and 10) and everyone really enjoyed it. The show was both fun and funny. I could see how the show could be better or worse depending on the people in the crowd, but we had a good time. I loved the earlier review that called it... More

Tim once hosted a fun event but that was a few years ago. Now it is totally different. With age he has lost his patience and is so rude it is uncomfortable. Half of the proceeds go to charity and the other half to NASCRAB. I strongly encourage you make a donation to the Veterans Assocation directly and go out... More

We went on Monday night to the family Nascrab. We arrived at 5:30 for drinks and the races. We received number 25, the last number. They immediately began picking crabs with table 1. Other groups came in after us and weren't there to eat and received a lower number. They were able to purchase all the crabs they wanted, and... More

We have been coming to Captiva for over 15 yrs and have wanted to attend the crab races but it never worked out until this year! We had a great time, and 2 of our tables crabs actually placed in the final race!!! We ate at The Crows Nest before the race and our food and drinks were delicious. It's... More

How do you make something out of nothing? Crab races? Really? This was a very well organized crazy event. Hilariously funny at times. A group of adult strangers bonding over crab racing while drinking at the bar.

Worth checking out at least once while visiting Sanibel/Captiva. We have gone several times over the years and have always a good time. There are two shows, an early and a late every Tuesday and Thursday. The late show is for adults w “adult” humor. It is not necessary to eat dinner at the restaurant but most families do. Get...
