It seems like the hurricane knocked out the red tide for now. This is a beautiful beach. We didn’t stay long because we did not have enough time. It is on Casey Key. We just wanted to check it out! And we will definitely return!

We have gone to this beach every time we stay at Oscar Sherer State Park. It is close, a little less well maintained than Venice, but also less crowded and if you park right you can walk to the Venice beach.

We were concerned about visiting with all the Red Tide issues but we were here end of September and the beach was pleasant and free of any smell or irritants. We noticed remnants of dead fish on our walk but nothing overly significant or out...More

Enjoyed Wednesday night drum circle. Incredible view of sun setting to sounds of local drummers, dancers and interesting and friendly people!

Nice beach, but not this summer. Very sad. Dead fish, watery eyes, choking and coughing. Not a beach summer.... Unhealthy for you to go in the water. Ocean is brownish red color.

This is an old style Florida beach with a relaxed atmosphere unlike Siesta Key to the north. The parking is adequate and right next to the beach. The kids will enjoy searching for sharks' teeth all day long. There is plenty of beach to take...More

saw fish in the surf - water looked good - but when we did scuba dive off the beach we saw the aftermath - nothing alive at all once you get off the shore :( hope it bounces back quickly!

First time at this beach. Nice options to be at the beach or walk along the jetty. We saw dolphins and turtles, along with numerous birds. They also have a snack bar, restrooms and rentals for kayaks or paddleboards.

We had such a brief one night stay on Casey Key on a road trip from Atlanta to Miami. We arrived during a thunder & lightning storm over the Gulf of Mexico. We got out on the beach for a long walk the next morning....More

Not a fisherman, but there were several people fishing. I think it might be better a little closer to the Jetties.

No, not at Nokomis. Travel down farther south, past Venice Beach, near Sharkeys and you will find a dog beach.
