I've been in the Nokomis-Venice area for 4+ weeks, Red Tide is awful, makes one cough and sneeze and dead fish all over the place. The overall beach stinks of fish, water is awful, and no let up in sight. The local government under reports...More

We went to this beach on a recommendation and were not disappointed! It isn't as commercial as other nearby beaches but that is what attracted us. The sand is nice, we saw dolphins from the shoreline and found sharks teeth, though not very many. Definitely...More

Nice walking beach. Walked to the jetty to watch kite surfers, jet skis and boats. Due to the wind and rough conditions most of the boats returned to the marina. The wind surfers were awesome to watch as were the jet skiers. Plenty of parking,...More

Nice beach a bit away from the hordes of people at Venice Beach. Parking may be tight, especially when there’s drum circles, and there are no concessions.

Not a fisherman, but there were several people fishing. I think it might be better a little closer to the Jetties.

No, not at Nokomis. Travel down farther south, past Venice Beach, near Sharkeys and you will find a dog beach.
