The turtle mound is the historic attraction in the area. The information center is nearby. Native Americans once inhabited the area and left behind some artifacts in the mound.I visit the park every winter when I am here.

Nice walk along the trails and beautiful scenery from the top of the mounds. So many shells its hard to imagine how those mounds were built long ago by native American Indians. We were there on a warm clear day and the views were great....More

Take a drive down through Canaveral National Seashore & stop at Turtle Mound. Great views of the ocean & river. Very peaceful location. I rode my bike here & just walked it up to the top.

The walkway to the turtle mound is a must. It is incredible how large the mound is. The view from the mound is amazing, you can see the Lagoon and the Ocean at the same time.
