8th street is a bit different from the rest of South beach. There are new and old buildings in the typical art deco style, fresh clothing stores, casual hotels, a beach and New Cafe. A street to visit when on Miami Beach.

I've seen this neighborhood rise from the ashes. It's lost some of its original charm but has some really fine shopping and dining.

We were staying on Ocean Drive and explored the streets. We walked through here while on a quest for food at a local MacDoanlds. It was great for people watching. Felt safe. Saw interesting architecture which was also great.A man complimented my hat. Was a lot of fun!

Miami Beach’s Art Deco District is a must for architecture lovers! It has been designated a United States historic district in 1979 and it was the first 20th-century neighborhood to be recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. It’s a great collection and most buildings were constructed between 1923 and 1943. There are walking tours offered in the area.... More

This is a very nice "work in progress". Many shops are open or in construction but there are not too many restaurants. This venue needs destination restaurants to attract people so they can make a day of walking around to the shops and having a meal at the appropriate time. A work in progress as I said. Great in about... More

Designer shops and art deco architecture, what's not to like! Beautiful shops, cafes and bars. Definitely worth a walk down and up each side.
