Lots of history beginning thousands of years ago. Interesting houses, great view. Highlight was Elliot's tour of the property. Since there were only 2 of us on the tour he offered a golf cart ride that could cover more territory. He gave a great tour...More

Stunning scenery, perfect place for a picnic by the sea. On a crystal clear, balmy day in late December I toured the historic home which was all decked out for Christmas. Trees had been decorated by various women's clubs and various other groups in different...More

Beautiful site with gorgeous homes and grounds. Great view of the Biscayne Bay and was very quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. Well worth the money.

We took the guided tour with Jared. He was a wonderful docent! Funny, informative and very professional. Absolutely loved the homes decorated for Christmas. Learned a lot about the Deering family. Highly recommend.

My visit coincided with the annual x-mas time evening open houses. Accordingly, reaching the property and parking nearby was daunting. Nevertheless, impressive grounds steeped in early 20th century wealthy industrialist history. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable docents. Note, entry fee is steep so unless you love...More

An old house in nice setting on the water; was here for a wedding. outdoor wedding reception in early October is a certifiably bad idea -- heat and bugs led to early exodus. Some interesting architectural elements, but not worth the trip from downtown.

The best part of Deering Estate, in our opinion is the view...positively STUNNING. Ours was somewhat blocked due to a wedding that was being held during hours - it had to be rescheduled due to a tropical storm the previous day. I wish we could...More

Totally awesome! Despite the recent damage by Hurricane Irma the Deering Estates clean up and recovery was fast. The Estate was beautiful. The ocean view is a must to see. So much history to see and learn.

We truly enjoy seeing our guests photos. Thankfully our grounds are returning back to their beautiful original blooming state as they were pre-Hurricane Irma.

The little gift shop was closed. It only had some little snacks like you'd find in a vending machine. Bring a picnic lunch to maximize your viewing pleasure!
