When we got to Shark Valley we did not know what to expect. There was a couple just leaving and they strongly suggested that we take the Tram, so glad we did! The tram trip is great for families with small children, and anyone who does not want to ride a bike, or walk the 7 miles to get to... More

We visited the Shark Valley reserve and decided to rent bikes instead of taking the tram. It is a 24km ride, but you will see lots of animals - we spotted at least 100 gators, including baby ones as well and snakes, birds etc. I can recommend biking the shortest route (7km) to the observation tower and then taking the... The guide was informative and provided accurate information (we checked) and interesting anecdotes that were on topic and funny. He was obviously very experienced. Good camaraderie between driver and guide. Our main purpose was birding and wildlife and we managed to see every species we had hoped for plus a few others. Lots of alligators. Complete review of the entire... More

Gators galore! It's a bit on the pricey side; however, unless you are fit enough to bicycle the trail, you won't be able to see everything. And, even if you bicycle, you miss the commentary of the guide. I've taken this tour several times, and every time the guides are awesome - they are entertaining and thoroughly informative. If you... Between Miami and Everglades city, you will find this great experience. We came at 4 pm, just in time to get on the last tram tour of the day, and got seated in the open sided tram, ready for the 2 hour ride out in the allmost untouched nature. Our Guide was Kelly, and she had a great knowledge about... More

The 15 mile loop is hard to walk and bike in the hot sun. The bikes are $9 the tram is $25 for adults $12 for children with a guide and driver and it's covered to protect you from the sun. Be there 15 min before so the guide can give you a history and location of shark valley. There... More

Make sure you sign up for an actual ranger-led tour, if you want to have the tram experience. We got stuck on a tour led by a delightful older couple, but unfortunately it was rife with incorrect information and wildlife misidentifications. It was shamefully bad, and I am very sorry that all those tourists came away thinking that there are... More

First, don't expect to see much in the Everglades at the end of the dry season. That was our fault. But, paying 50 bucks to ride a paved loop to an observation deck and be given 15 minutes to walk to it with 50 other people; and still see anything was a bit of a stretch. The driver slamming on... We took the 11am two hour tram ride and found it extremely interesting, beautiful and peaceful. The guide was charming and her and the driver were very quick at spotting countless wild animals and rare birds. Would highly recommend to anybody visiting the area.
