Clean beach, friendly people

Very easy to get to and clean. The folks you meet on the beach strip are always friendly. They are building up quite a bit so there will soon also be newer places to stay

Loved seeing wildlife in their natural setting. Alligators, birds of many types and manatees. Beautiful car drive through the refugee. It's on a dirt road but I was too afraid to get out of the car due to the alligators and who knows what other critters!

Staff at the visitor center was great. Be sure to get a map of the area. The driving trail was great. All kinds of birds and alligators.

Fantastic view of birds. Storks, Rosetta Spoonbills, Egrets and more. Throw in a couple of alligators and lovely scenery and you have a wonderful experience. Take the Black Point scenic loop road, unpaved but an easy ride to view a myriad of wildlife.

The refuge is a beautiful place. The Visitor Information Center has several very interesting exhibits, and the staff is very friendly. I told them what I particularly wanted to see (manatees, haha) and they gave me good directions as to where I was most likely to find them on that day. I took the 7 mile road through the refuge... Open view of the real Florida. Keep an eye open you may see turtles, birds or even a gator. The fresh air is a delight as you stroll through the open terrain. Bring water and don't use nature as your can. Be prepared to be refreshed.

This was my second visit. The wildlife center is a very well maintained area. My husband and I spent about 90 minutes on the 7 mile Black Point Wildlife Road. The number and variety of birds were incredible. On this visit, I was able to identify 20 species of birds including the various egrets, herons and osprey. My focus was... More

Excellent place to spend a few hours, with a good chance to see lots of different wildlife. The manatees turned up, albeit only a few, and plenty of birds on Black Point Wildlife Drive. Didn't see any scrub jays but we were there in the heat of the day. Glimpsed an alligator, however!
