We go to these wetlands any time we have company and often just to take a leisurely drive around. We love to see the gators and birds. It's a very peaceful thing to do. If it's too wet, they close it down since the roads...More

Fantastic place to bird watch! Morning is the best lighting, but any time of day is beautiful. Lots of shore birds, close viewing and beautiful refuge. I would recommend this stop for any naturalist.

We took a drive through the wetlands to see wildlife. We saw a lot of water birds and got several nice photos. We drove around twice and enjoyed our picnic lunch on one of the benches. Nice restful way to spend some of our afternoon.
