Fantastic ceiling of ceramics
Aug 2019
Small local church
The ceiling is the main attraction as it is lined with ceramic tiles made in Castelli. They have a predominantly yellow colour to them which I understand denotes they were made in the 1600's. worth a quick look.Central to the town so easily accessible.

Provides an unique understanding of the ceramics of Castelli
Jun 2018 • Couples
This is a village that is really fun to visit. The Chiesa di San Donato provides a good understand of the history of Castelli's artists and their work in ceramics. After visiting the church be sure to wander around the village. There are ceramic shops everywhere - most of them working studios. Everything from traditional to modern. After your visit, take a drive in the mountains down to Farindola or up on top to the meadows of the Gran Sasso - the road to Castel Del Monte.

After an interesting drive we arrived at this tiny church and was wowed by the tiles on the ceiling. A peaceful beautiful church, well worth the visit en route to the town of Castelli.

Beautiful church in a rustic setting
Apr 2014 • Friends
We visited this church on our way to the town of Castelli. It is in a quiet rural area, surrounded by many trees. It was so peaceful there, so unlike most of the tourist areas we had been to on our trip. The story of the church was so fascinating, and to see the work that had been done by artists to give so much loving labor to the unique tiles that line ceiling. It has been called "the sistine chapel of Castelli" for good reason. A good place to sit and meditate as you appreciate each of the tiles displayed.
