We were on a dolphin encounter cruise that stopped us off here on the island to look for shells. What a beautiful spot with white sand and clear water. There were a lot of shells on the shore, be sure to bring a bag to put all your finds in. Great spot only accessible by watercraft.

This is a great spot to bring your friends and your boat. The beach is huge and never has a large number of people. There are shells everywhere and the surf is generally calm and inviting. There are no facilities or places for food/cooking unless you are part of a group that owns land on the island. If you go... More

Definitely worth a visit to Keewaydin Island, but, you obviously need a boat to get here. Once there, you'll find music, food vendors, and, if you go during the summer months, very warm water.

We had read reviews of the island and people had told us that it was a fantastic place to spend an afternoon where you can enjoy the beach, grab some food, and swim in the ocean and they were definitely right! Park your boat in behind the island and there, you will find numerous food boats (pizza, fish, hotdogs, ice... More

Most locals steer clear of Keewaydin. It is a party scene, so if you are young and into that, by all means go. But if you have a family, it isn't the greatest. Lots of big boats with rap music and woman in not a lot of bathing suits. Also, during high tide, there is not a lot of beach... More

The best beach we've visited in southwest Florida, with lovely calm waters and white sand. Highly recommended.

You can only access by boat but worth the trip! Beach has lots of shells, usually quiet and not many boaters. On the way to the island you'll encounter dolphins! Wonderful sandbar...great to set up beach chairs, umbrella and a picnic on the sand.

We spent New Years Day boating around this area and spent time on the island. It was beautiful and clean. Plenty of shelling to be had. Not a very congested beach so a great spot if you want to avoid crowded beaches.

What a hidden gem! We did not know that our dolphin tour boat was going to stop at Keewaydin as part of our tour. We were all delighted. The beautiful strand of beach was just a short walk through nature from the boat beach area. We wet our feet in the gulf, collected shells and enjoyed the setting sun. This... More
