The Eco-Discovery Center features more than 6,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, which interpret the resources and management efforts of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, two national parks, and four national wildlife refuges. Check out the exhibit on Aquarius, the world's only underwater ocean laboratory, the Living Reef exhibit, which includes a 2,500-gallon reef tank with living corals and tropical fish, the live Reef Cam, and other displays that highlight the coral reef environment. The Center is located in NOAA’s Dr. Nancy Foster Florida Keys Environmental Complex on the Truman Annex waterfront in Key West. Admission is always free (and so is parking), so be sure to stop by for a visit!

We popped in here off of a trolley tour because it was free and looked neat. It was a cute little educational place with lots of informative exhibits and some interesting marine tanks. Was a bit boring for two younger adults - but I could definitely see it being great for a family visit - especially with kids!

Great place to learn about the Keys and the water eco-system. The 3-Dr film is fun for adults and children alike. Actually feel like you are swimming underwater. Lots of interactive displays. Like the fact there is a Ranger that you can talk with and is able to answer questions. No cost involved, but they do accept donations. Highly recommend... More

Great stop & it's free! Nice aquariums & exhibits to learn about the Florida keys ecosystems. Knowledgeable volunteers. Nice for a rainy day or to get out of the sun & heat for awhile & have a good time. Nice location by cruise ships & city shops.

We visited this shortly after 9:00am opening. A thorough and informative exhibit of lots of flora and animal life in the keys. This is a great place to learn and enjoy. There's a 20 minute film that enhances this experience. Good for the whole family.

What a great place for all ages! Free! They have a few rooms with the eco life of the keys. They have a small aquarium and a theater that made you fell you were swimming with the fishes 🐠🐟🐬🦈. The gift shop had some great things for divers and kid books that were different. The 3-D presentation was cool. I... More

A good choice for a bad weather day. Lots of short films and exhibits, and good information about the history of Key West. There is also parking.

We had been biking around, and I wasn't sure that I wanted to go inside at the moment. I'm glad we did. It was a nice, cool respite for a short time. Right away, a volunteer greeted us and informed us about a movie that would be playing shortly. The building was really pretty inside. The displays were informative and... More

We heard about the discovery center on the trolley ride. My 6 and 4 year old loved having the feeling of being underwater in a submarine. The movie was well done and a cute way to spend an hour or two, plus its free.

I could do without the movie and most people walked our before it was over. We did too. It was just a woman snorkeling amid fish talking about being raised on the Keys. The exhibits were very good and interactive. We loved the 3-D film of the Living Reef showing all sorts of fish. It is free and worthwhile.
