As beautiful in person as all of the photos. However, photos do not due justice to the colors and just how cool it is to see a brick structure built in and surrounded by water! The 'all day' choice by seaplane let us snorkel as...More
We did the day trip by boat. Very smoothe ride. You sit at tables of 6 or more so be prepared to mingle with others. Everyone we met was very nice. The tortugas are AMAZING! clear warm water. Definitely wear water shoes. The sand is...More
I highly recommend going to the Dry Tortugas and if you go and can afford it take the seaplane. It was worth every penny. If you take the 8:00am flight you will arrive before the tour boats and have the place basically to yourself for...More

I would say my time at the dry tortugas was just okay.

Try a Day Trip by Catamaran, it’s 5-star, (search the web - don’t quit for day trips by boat to Dry Tortugas - be persistent -call by cell every lead and you will connect) it’s a beautiful, fun, boating day, usually great people on board, guided tour at the fort, best option to the Seaplane out of The Key West Airport. The Cat is a 10-hour round trip, operating out of the Key West Marina. Trust us, you will always think back with a smile to your wonderful time in Key West, plus your decision to take the Cat to Fort Jefferson (Dry Tortugas). The idea of a fort being built where it’s at, back in the day, is outrageous. It’s called “Dry” Tortugas is because there was no water on the island (actually a key). Enjoy

The North Coaling Dock Ruins had thousands of Silver Side Fish being ran by a school of Tarpons, which we were swimming among. We also saw a sting ray and 2 juvenile Barracudas there. Both the North and South Coaling dock Ruins had beautiful coral and plant life as well. The best snorkeling we have ever done was at these two places.
