The Vandenburg Wreck is so immense with multiple swimthroughs that it would take hundreds of dives to explore all of it. With lots of marine life surrounding the wreck, it is surely a must-do dive if you are in the Keys.

No regrets at all! But be careful it's only for experimented divers. You must have an AOW license and some experience in wrecks since it's not easy if you intend to go through the wreck as it may the main idea! For doing more fun...More

USS Hoyt S. Vandenberg was sunk on 5/26/2009 as an artificial reef after ten years seeking the necessary permits and permissions. It was prepared by divers for divers, and sits at 100ft (deck area). All of Key West's dive companies go there, and it takes...More

I dove the Vandenberg with Dive Key West as part of my deep and wreck diving courses. What a fantastic site to see. Huge barracuda, bull shark, morey eel, and many other species of fish. I can't wait to dive it again.

We did our dive on the Vandenburg with SouthPoint divers. It is at 90-110 feet in depth for the most part, so you either need your Advanced Open Water cert, or an assigned guide. It is a really engaging dive with great swim throughs and...More

Went with Lostreef dive company, very helpful and friendly, assisting with rental gear as I could not bring mine here. We had 100 foot visibility and a little current, but not too bad. Interesting wreck and you can do swim throughs if you are an...More

This should be the number one thing for people to do in Key West. Absolutely breath taking. Even with a strong current once you get down on the wreck you can really start adventuring. It is easy to penetrate with little training. You can swim...More
