A very unusual cemetery - several graves have humorous epitaphs (e.g., "I told you I was sick").

The cemetery requires you to walk thru it as motorized vehicles are not allowed. I would suggest going in the later part of day to make it tolerable but the site is very cool to walk around.

Walk through history of Key West's dearly departed and even have a giggle or two (or more) with the humor KW residents often had inscribed on their headstones. Very interesting!

We reached the cemetery during a bike tour around Key West. it's in the middle of the historic residential area and adds a nice, albeit eerie quality to the area. Many historic gravesites and intersting cultural specifics.

I maybe should have looked into this further before visiting, because it is literally just a grave yard. I'm not sure why it shows up as a must see. I made the assumption of thinking it would be very historical because of Key Wests past...More
