A very unusual cemetery - several graves have humorous epitaphs (e.g., "I told you I was sick").

The walk from our hotel to the cemetery took us off the beaten path and gave us an idea of where the regular people live in Key West. It was interesting looking at some of the really old headstones. Using our cemetery map we found...More

Really liked looking at the older parts of the cemetery. Was a bit disappointed that they were out of maps as I was looking for some specific places and had limited time to visit.

I like cemeteries and accidentally came across Key West Cemetery trying to find my car. Looking at a map this place is huge, but easy to navigate. I really wanted to see B.P. Roberts (I told you I was sick ) grave. While walking around...More

We took a walk one afternoon through the cemetery. It provided an interesting slice of historical Key West. You won't likely spend a lot of time here but worth 30 minutes.

A tranquil place, filled with giant iguanas sunning themselves throughout the cemetery. Find the 'I told you I was sick' tombstone.

Very excited to spend a few hours walking around the cemetery. All the different sections are a great cultural walk. Bird watching was great, and some large reptiles as well.

Very informative about the history of Key West cemetery. You will see various burial types necessary for an island with limited space. It was a nice quiet walk.

We rented bikes and road through the cemetery. It was an interesting place to explore. Beware, there will be large iguanas sunbathing on the headstones!

Interesting place to stroll around and get a feel of the residents of an area. We were told to come here and see the iguanas sunning themselves on the stones. We did come accross many but they were very timid.

Very reminiscent of New Orleans Cemetery. Could be a good place to get away from the shops and just peruse a bit of history in the granite stones.
