The fort is something a history nut like myself likes to climb around on, but there is more . The park and the beach is great for picnicing , swimming or snorkling , this was the best stretch of beach we encountered in 8 days...More

We totally enjoyed this park. There is snack food available on site so we were able to stay all morning. Lots of sand to play in and the beach is wonderful. There is a rock island the kids could swim to and lots of creatures...More

We went twice, we liked it so much. Snorkeled a lot, saw tons of fish and a couple rays, nice, clear water. Also found some amazing coral on the beach, and some shells. Really a lovely park. (Not very sandy, though.) One day it rained...More

This place is beautiful. They have lounge chairs to rent, a small bar/restaurant. You can tour the fort AND go to the beach. Bring good water shoes, though, the water is amazing, but the beach is very rocky!

Great place for historic buffs. The snorkeling was fun and the fort was interesting. I would recommend the flying out over the boat short 45 min flight. Must see in Key West

We are here for a month so did not walk from the cruise dock. It is walkable from there but I might suggest in your situation to consider riding on the Trolley tour which does make a stop at the gate of the State Park. In... More
