This is the best beach in Key West. There are facilities to shower, food to purchase, restrooms and beach rentals. The water is crystal but I recommned water shoes due to rocks on the bottom. We go to Fort Zach every time we visit Key West!

If you only set aside one day to "beach it" this is the place to go. The water is beautiful, there is a snack bar with a wide variety and plenty of seating under the palms and out of the sun if needed.

The beach is Rocky, but the amenities that are available for rent make it worthwhile! Lounge chairs and umbrellas are for rent (sort of expensive), great concessions for food and drink, bathrooms (which are filthy) and fresh water showers outside to rinse off after swimming make this a good location. The rock formations in the swimming area are full of... More

We happened to arrive in time for a free tour led by Kevin. His knowledge and enthusiasm bought the place to life giving us a really informative and educational visit. Plus with pedestrian entry at only $2.50 an adult this was amazing value. If you've got an hour to spare it's well worth a visit.

We actually didn't visit the fort as it closes at 5 (I think) and we got there right about that time. However, the park is open until sunset (which can be after 8). The park includes the absolute nicest beach in Key West. Know that Key West isn't really known for it's beaches, so you will have seen better, but... More

Authentic rocky KW beack. Very c;lean. Heck of a walk so I would recommend biking or driving. We walked and it took us a good 30 minutes from Duval

We walked all over the fort and found it to be extremely well maintained! The beach at Fort Taylor was beautiful, clean and a great place to check out some fish!

This fort was used for many years to protect the coast of Florida and even the United States, so I was wanting to visit it for it’s historical value. It was again a disappointment, while it had more history placards than other forts I have visited in Florida it only skimmed the surface of the purpose of the fort. It... More

This Civil War Fort is fascinating and fun. History at you convenience. However, you also have a beautiful State Park and Beach watch the Sunset away from the delightful but crowded madness of Mallory Square. Wonder shade tree at the Beach, clear water, decent snorkeling and the thrill of watching big cruise ships pass out of KW Harbor most afternoons.

Fort Zachary Taylor is a wonderful State park with great water views and good snorkeling as well. Be sure to bring water shoes as there are lots of coral deposits to walk over in and near the beach. There are chairs for rent and food and bathrooms too.
