Morning Star Charters has been in the chartering business for the 32 years...

Morning Star Charters has been in the chartering business for the 32 years in the upper Keys doing oceanside reef snorkels and sunset sails, is now proudly part of the Key Lime Sailing Club family!

Capt. Rick has handed down his family business to Paul and Key Lime Sailing Club’s great staff of captains.

Laid back, easy going, fun, sailing, snorkeling charters in Key Largo, for those that seek the best.

Sailing, snorkeling on our 50' sailing yacht, Morning Star offers charters for two to six persons. Enjoy the beautiful waters of Key Largo in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

We are the longest existing sail, snorkel charter in the Florida Keys. Morning Star DOES NOT use the reefs that the snorkel boats go to. We have been going the extra miles to the best reefs for years. We want our customers to see the best, not the worst that Key Largo has to offer.

Yes, we have seen the reports on some on line bulletin boards about "skip Key Largo when it comes to snorkeling". These are written by people who opted for the typical cheap cattle boat trips and have been taken to shallow, abused, small patch reefs with murky water.

We want you to know there are reefs off Key Largo that rival the best in the world! Morning Star will take you to Molasses Reef, Pickles Reef, and reefs "off the beaten path" that are teeming with sea life, beautiful corals, in crystal clear waters!

And when it comes to sailing, YES! We will sail as much as possible, it's a major part of what we do!

In a greedy world where quantity has replaced quality we want you to know that old time values and pride in ownership still exist with Morning Star Charters.

Romantic and relaxing sunset sail

We reviewed the website thoroughly reading all reviews and thought this would be fun to take my sister out with my wife for a cruise for sister's birthday. We arrived on time and were told that there was a slight mechanical problem that was being solved. Get back to that. The pics of the boat on this website must have... More

We had booked the sunset sail on the ocean side but the wind was high, so the boss advised us to take the sail on the catamaran on the bay side of the island. Actually that seemed more exciting as we had never sailed on a catamaran before. The boat is comfortable, whether you are lounging on the nets over... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our cruise with captain George and 2 crew mates. Ample warning about the conditions (windy and water slightly murky) but we decided to head out and certainly did not regret it. George found us the best spot; one of the crew members (master diver and expert in marine science) was our personal guide and we were able to... More

I did a lot of research and planning for my sisters bachelorette weekend in Key Largo. I came upon Morning Star and chatted with Captain Rick and booked this great experience for my sister and our friends. We had a great time sailing around, snorkeling and seeing a few turtles along the way! We learned about some of the houses... More

Morning start charters took car of us on our 1-2 trips/year to the Keys. We never had a bad trip. I always let the Captain pick the day so we had 100% great visibility, great timing (not at the reefs at the same time as the cattle-boats), and Cat. Rick always told us what to expect. Great sailing days usually... More

Myself and two teenage kids took an afternoon snorkel tour. The website says its a 51 boat, but our boat was a 33ft old fiberglass boat. The website says only the owner takes people out but we got some dude that just joined about 3 weeks ago. Not a terrible experience, but wouldn't do it again on this boat.

We had friends visiting and wanted to go out on a relaxing sunset sail. We looked online for options, read the websites and reviews and selected Morning Star. Their website says it's a 50' sailboat and the captain has been running this charter for 25 years - both of which contributed to us selecting this company. Imagine our surprise and... More

Had an amazing time, they took us to Molasses Reef, the snorkeling was the best! The wind was not very strong, but they put the sail up on the way back and we were able to see turtles swimming along when the engine was off. Captain George & his mate were great, very friendly, made the trip very enjoyable. Would... More

This was an amazing experience for a family to go out and swim to different reefs. Captain George and Skylar were incredible with us. I highly recommend this.

This was our second time on Morning Star, but first time on a snorkel trip. The new captain, George and his mate treated us like family as our group spent the afternoon in the water. George asked all the safety questions, and offered his expertise in finding the perfect reef for us. It was so relaxing to have just the... More
