Cute place to stop with a small child, but very small. Has a few little animals. Heard that the nature tours outside were very good but didn't have a chance to do. Will go back for outdoor excursion next visit but will skip the nature center inside.

Came here with my husband and kids to check it out and participate in a resort activity. We weren't told the cost but of course expected to pay despite the daily "resort fee" we are charged as hotel guests. Then we were ignored, then rushed out the door by Leigh and the young man assisting her. But of course we... More

This Nature Center has a collection of Pet-Store animals. If you are going to waste your time here, go to the Jacksonville Zoo. The center is mostly a gift shop with some animals scattered here and there.

Great birding tour via golf cart. The tour guide took us to specific locations which we would have never found on our own. Tour guide was very knowledgable of the native birds and Eco systems of the area. Tour includes binoculars.

There was a little pig like turtle hiding under the gravel. Never seen one of those before. The young lady was so kind as to coax said turtle to eat food from the surface. She - the nature preserve lady - is a keeper, we were so appreciative of her attention to our interest.

While staying at the Amelia Island Plantation, if you have small children, you should stop in to see the critters on display. They also a have a large blue Parrot who talks with the kids in true Parrot fashion. It's a nice diversion from the pool and beach if you are looking for something different to do with the kids.

Every year, the family I nanny for goes to the Amelia Island Plantation and I stay with them. For the last three years, we always stop at the nature center. The staff is always friendly, and the kids love seeing Buddy the parrot. We were sad to hear that the bunny we loved so much last year had passed away.... More

I toured the Nature Center with my daughter, and we enjoyed looking at all the critters on display. The talking parrot up front really did repeat things, which was cute. The walkway outback leads you to the pond where you can feed the turtles, using food that the Center gives you for free, which was nice. This is a fun... More
